Known as the Pearl of Wales on the Shores of Snowdonia, Criccieth is a town on Cardigan Bay in the Welsh county of Gwynedd.
A seaside resort, it is hugely popular with families because it boasts mountains, historical attractions and fun things to do alongside the two sand and pebble beaches.
There's the ruins of Criccieth Castle to explore and some excellent coastal walks, during which you might be lucky enough to spot dolphins and porpoises in the bay.
An ice cream parlour will satisfy the sweet-toothed in your party, while several restaurants can cater for a more substantial bite to eat in the evenings.
For fun things to do, try visiting the slate caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog or the Maritime Museum in nearby Porthmadog.
There are also fairs held in May and June with rides and stalls, so timing your holiday to coincide with one of these could be a fun way to check out a local tradition.
