Warm welcome at Gorphwysa

Gorphwysfa
A lovely CL in a great location for visiting Cemlyn Nature reserve and Cemaes bay. Phil and Sue offer a warm welcome with lots of info about the area. The two bathrooms were spotless with excellent hot showers ( no push button showers here!). Would definitely visit again and would recommend. Thanks Phil and Sue.

A hidden Gem

Gorphwysfa
We came to Gorphwysfa in July 2023 while we were walking the Wales Coastal Path. We were initially booked in for a few days but loved it so much we stayed for 3 weeks! Phil and Sue are excellent hosts, friendly and welcoming. The facilities are spotless, two showers and two loos with recycling and disposal all close by. Fresh eggs on site daily, fantastic home made bara brith and breakfast delivered to the caravan too! There is a bus stop very close by which we used to walk the sections from Cemaes Bay to Newborough! Cemlyn bay with it's amazing Turn colony is a 1.5m drive or walk from site. A loop from the site to Wylfa Head is surprisingly beautiful despite the view of the power station on the headland. Llanbedrig church above Cemaes Bay is a beautiful place to visit as is the the amazing copper mine at Parys Mountain. It's easy to use the bus all the way down this section of coast to Cemaes Bay, Bull Bay,Amlwch, Moelfre, Benllech and Menai Bridge. There is a petrol station ( cheapest on the island) very close by which has a shop selling groceries etc. There are so many beautiful walks in the area and Phil and Sue are very obliging and knowledgeable and treat you as friends We had a great stay and when we have finished the rest of the coastal path we will be back Cheers guys, all the best.

An absolute gem!

Gorphwysfa
We were welcomed on arrival by Philip who made us especially welcome. He gave us lots of information about the area as well as details of home-made Bara Brith and cooked breakfasts which could be ordered and delivered to your caravan! The site is really spacious with an immaculate toilet block comprising two separate shower rooms with toilet and sink. They were spotless. It is so peaceful here- sheep grazing right next to us and ducks waddling around. We walked onto the Anglesey Coastal Path from the site- took about 15 minutes. Cemaes is about 20 minutes walk through little lanes. This is one of the best CLs that we have stayed on in recent years. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon. Thankyou Philip and Sue.

Lovely site

Gorphwysfa
Lovely weekend stay on this CL site. Clean, quiet and welcoming. It's ideally situated for walking the coastal path which is really well signposted along the route with amazing views at every turn. Plus perfect time of year to see the nesting colonies of Terns (Artic, Common and Sandwich) at Cemlyn Bay Lagoon along the way. Will be back for further visits.

Excellent

Gorphwysfa
A well run clean and pleasant site. Phil & Sue make excellent hosts. Their hens sheep and ducks make amusing companions. Farm eggs and chutneys are highly recommended. We most certainly plan to return as it is one of the best CL sites we have been to. Pete & Sue Jones
