Why stay here ...

Powblack Farm Caravan Site is situated on a quaint and peaceful location, with views extending down the Carse of Stirling, with the skyline outlined by Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument and framed by the Campsie Hills, Ben Lomond, Ben A'an, Ben Ledi and Ben Venue. The River Forth runs adjacent to the site, which features an abandonment of biodiversity including otters, many types of fish and many rare species of birds - we are extremely proud that our farm has a resident Red Kite. The site is centrally located to be easy accessible to many historical sites and attractions, walking on our many neighbouring trails, hills and Bens, visiting our famous cities – Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh via user friendly transportation infrastructure, in close proximity to Blair Drummond Safari Park (less than 5 miles) and many, many top quality cafes, farm food shops and restaurants.

Powblack Farm is a working farm, farming more than 400 acres, farmed by us from December 1995. We mainly farm Haylage which is a dried grass crop product that we supply to the equine market, harvested in July. We also produce different breeds of sheep and cattle which graze alongside the site. We have Fern and Barbara the Highland Cows (they are the Queens of the cow world) Einstien the Aberdeen Agnus Bull who is regal and extremely muscley, tiny but beautifully formed Dexter cows, the most beautiful and cuddly Valais Blacknose Sheep (known as the cutest sheep in world) and our comical Hampshire Down sheep. The farm has also a selection of free-range hens and ducks which produce different coloured shelled eggs which will be available in a honesty box for your consumption.

Powblack Farm is farmed in a method to be mindful of the environment. The farm business has just entered a government scheme to encourage the growth and enhance biodiversity by introducing a water reserve refuge, planting a wildlife sanctuary around our crop fields, implementing new hedges for animal shelter and planting green manure plants to reduce the use of fossil fuel relent fertilsers. One outstanding event from this new venture, in August the wildflower crop on the roadside produces sunflowers emerging from the greenery, the Sunflowers bloom to produce a sea of yellow – it is quite spectacular.

Being more thoughtful of our countryside extends to reducing our waste by providing our campers the opportunity to recycle any waste products (relevant bins will be provided). We would ask you to be fully committed to our passion for our environment and dispose of any rubbish and lift dog faeces in an appropriate and environmentally manner, to preserve not only the wildlife but our precious animals.

Powblack Farm Caravan Site is a natural oasis away but not far from the beaten track, we look forward to sharing this exclusive and tranquil experience with you.

What a perfect holiday!

The site's "blurb" attracted us - we were looking for a quiet two weeks in nice surroundings. Travel north was so different from battling through Birmingham and we found a beautiful, mostly level field which, despite this "record wet" July showed no signs of becoming boggy, set on a... Show more

Birthday Weekend

Grassy field with hookup and the most beautiful scenery. Tight turn getting through the gate especially in a tag axle but we got there. Irene came to check we were OK when we arrived and again the next morning. Bit of a distance to the town of Kippen, 3 miles... Show more

Nice and quiet

When we arrived at ‘Powblack Farm’; we turned onto the Farm drive but we couldn’t find anyone to speak to. We could see a caravan in the field directly opposite the farm, so went to explore. As we were exploring someone driving by stopped to speak to us (can... Show more

A delightfully peaceful farm site

We booked Powblack Farm CL as a stopover on our journey home to Invernessshire from Garlieston CL in Galloway. It is a beautiful gem situated on the banks of the upper reaches of the River Forth. Here the river has more the appearance of a trout stream in southern England than... Show more
