Situated in the Stirling area of Scotland, the village of Drymen lies adjacent to the Campsie Fells in the Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
The fact that it enjoys wonderful scenic views of the hills, Dumgoyne and Loch Lomond makes it hugely popular with walkers and cyclists, particularly since the Queen Elizabeth Forest also stretches down to the edges of the village.
Both the West Highland Way and the Rob Roy Way are accessible walking routes from Drymen, as are a number of other great trails.
It's an excellent location for history buffs too, as the ruins of Buchanan Castle dating back to the 17th century are nearby, as are the remains of a medieval motte.
You'll be able to grab a bite to eat at one of the two pubs in the village and stock up on supplies at the walkers' shop.
Other highlights in the vicinity include the Glengoyne Distillery, Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre, the Sea Life Aquarium and Loch Lomond Shores Shopping Village.
