Lovely site

Mossbank Croft
Great site with good facilities at each pitch, picnic table and benches at each pitch and grass cut and tidy. Alan and Bridie really are great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. Great location for hillwalking, visiting the Small Isles especially with Arisaig Marine, good area for cycling as well. Hope to return next year.

Lovely CL in lovely surroundings

Mossbank Croft
We've just spent five nights here. It's a lovely CL, which looks to be quite new, and has five hardstanding pitches in a line, all pointing towards the coast. Each pitch has private water, grey waste and EHU, e.g. fully serviced. If you have a caravan you will want to unhitch and then use movers to get the caravan facing forwards towards the coast; if you reverse in without unhitching you're facing the mountains, which are lovely but less special. Site has no toilets but there are toilets up the road near the beach access points and also in Mallaig. The only negative about the location is the acess road is quite untidy, with four rotting caravans, however this is probably outside the owner's control as it looks like they belong to a local farm. Nearby, Arisaig has Arisaig Bread Shed, for fresh bread and occasional pizzas (monitor their FB page) and Mallaig has a good co-op. Highly recommend getting the boat to Inverie if the weather is good, and having a beer at Britain's most remote mainland pub. All in all, this CL is excellent, and we will return.

Beautiful Location

Mossbank Croft
Prompt response to emails when enquiring about availability and booking (which is always a huge plus for me). Site was easy to find and easy to access. The owners, Bridie and Alan were extremely friendly. As others have said, five level hard standing pitches all in row (with plenty of space in between) each with their own EHU, water and waste and picnic table. The site is very open offering views in all directions especially out to The Small Isles. However, it was incredibly windy during our stay so something to consider if you wanted to put up an awning. Easy walk down to the beach and some interesting WWll heritage to be found at Arisaig. Price at April 2024 was £30 for two adults.

Cracking Certificated Location

Mossbank Croft

Quick response when booking. Very easy to find and access. Lovely quiet site, as usual with a certificated location just the 5 pitches. Each has its own water, hook up, grey waste and picnic table. Chemical waste very clean, and the all important hosepipe to make rinsing down very easy. Alan and Bridie popped over to make sure we'd settled. Very friendly, gave information about the area, particularly the wildlife. Just during the few days we stayed there were (amongst others) Snipe, Cuckoo, Lapwings (with chicks) and Twite, along with various geese and gulls. A stroll to get to the beach, but not far, and very easy if you have bikes with you (we have a campervan so no car). Easy access to Arisaig and the small isles ferry which was our main reason for this visit. Mallaig also very easy to access, so the site makes a great base for exploring the area. All in all thoroughly recommend the site, hopefully we'll return before too long.

a lovely croft site

Mossbank Croft
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Moss Bank. Five hardstanding pitches in a row each with a tap/drainage, hookup and a pub-style wooden table with benches. It was lovely to watch the small herd of cattle of all ages in the next field and to hear and see a variety of birds in the surrounding area. It took a few minutes to walk down the road and through another campsite to a lovely sandy beach. We liked the more peaceful and less crowded position of this CL i.e. a short distance away from the coast, yet with stunning views all around. Sunsets looking over Rum and Eigg really beautiful. We enjoyed chatting to the owner Alan, and finding out a bit more about crofting life.
