Why stay here ...

Kirsty would like to welcome you to her CL site; nestled in a lovely part of the Wiltshire countryside, an excellent base for exploring the area.

Within walking distance to the village of Southwick, you will find a convenience store and the Farmhouse pub which serves good food and is one of many popular pubs in the area.

Trowbridge, the County Town of Wiltshire is two miles away. Here you will find a choice of supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafes and a large cinema complex. There is also a railway station with excellent links to Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, London and the South Coast and the bus service runs through Southwick and serves Bath, Warminster, Frome and Salisbury.

The Wyle Valley circular 160-mile cycleway route from Salisbury to Bath passes through fabulous valley scenery right up to historic Malmesbury in the Cotswolds.

If you are keen golfers, you could try Cumberwell Park, Wiltshire's only 45-hole golf course situated just outside of Bradford on Avon. Or if you could try fishing at Shearwater, a fresh-water lake near Warminster. The lake is large and is shared with local wildlife. Families and dogs walk and spend time together around the lake and visit the local tea-room which is good value for money.

Plan a trip to the historic market town of Bradford on Avon which is only four and a half miles away. The towns canal, river and historical buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants make it popular with tourists and the history of the town can be traced back to Roman origins.

Stourhead is a large estate at the source of the River Stour in Wiltshire extending into Somerset. The estate includes a Palladium Mansion, the village of Stourhead, beautiful gardens, farmland and woodland and has been part-owned by the National Trust since 1946.

Lacock is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire about three miles from Chippenham and it owned almost in its entirety by the National Trust and attracts many visitors due to its unspoilt appearance. It is often used as a film location for period dramas.

The World Heritage City of Bath is twelve miles away and sits just over the border in Somerset. The Roman-built baths is one of many attractions which can be enjoyed by travelling around the city on an open-topped bus.

Longleat Safari Park, eleven miles away contains a drive through animal park and an Elizabethan house which is open to the public. This is a very popular family destination.

Only four miles away is Farleigh Hungerford Castle, an English Heritage Site constructed in the 1300's, overlooking the River Frome.

Westbury White Horse perched on the side of a hill is only a short drive away and can be seen from just outside the caravan site. It boasts super picnic areas and views all around the County. Walkers and dogs walkers can enjoy the footpaths while experiencing the panoramic surroundings.

Other places to visit are Salisbury and Wells Cathedrals, Stonehenge and Avebury.

Lovely week

Green Hill Park
Just returned from this cl having had a lovely week. The owner kirsty was very friendly and helpful. The cl is nicely positioned for both Wiltshire and Somerset attractions, we found plenty to keep us occupied for our week. Access was very good, just a little care needed when leaving the site as its on a bend. Very little road noise as its a quit lane. Grass is cut regularly and there is a footpath across the road for dog walking.

A quiet and delightful site

Green Hill Park
We stopped over on our way back from a wedding. This site is very well kept, nice flat pitches with electric hook-up. Our name and pitch were on a board at the entrance, making arrival very easy. A short walk away is a good farm shop. We had a very quiet night and Kirsty was very friendly. I would recommend for short or longer stays at this lovely little site.

A lovely site

Green Hill Park
We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our break. Access to the site is easy, with an area large enough to pull off the road before entering the gated field. The board on the gate indicates your pitch number. The site itself is level with 5 large, well-spaced pitches. Facilities for waste, water and recycling were well maintained with clear signage. The site is quiet and peaceful - listen to the birdsong and look out for the barn owl that flies along the field! Our hosts, Kirsty and Jason, have not long taken over the site from the previous owners, and were enormously helpful to us during our stay. Thank you!

How it should be

Green Hill Park
A model site. You got what it said on the tin with a healthy helping on local input from Sarah and Alan. They clearly run their site in the way they expect sites to be run when they go touring in their own van. We enjoyed our stay and put it to good use touring the area. Great farm shop next door that sells tasty shop made sausages and fresh milk from a machine.
