Why stay here ...

Highview at Little Firs Farm CL site is situated on the A343 between Andover and Salisbury, adjacent to Salisbury Hillside Caravan & Motorhome Club Site.

We offer a field for up to 5 caravans with breathtaking views overlooking the beautiful Hampshire countryside towards Danebury Hillfort.

In addition to the historic city of Salisbury (8 miles away), which boasts the beautiful Salisbury Cathedral, there are several other local attractions within a 20 mile radius. These include Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Salisbury Racecourse, Wilton House, The Hawk Conservancy Trust, The Museum of Army Flying, Stockbridge Marsh and Mottisfont Abbey, to name a few.

The nearest villages are The Wallops, Winterslow and Porton, being approximately 3 miles away. All offer very good village shops and public houses.

The local countryside offers an abundance of easily accessible scenic walks (New Forest, Figsbury Ring, Bentley Woods). There is even a pretty dog walk adjacent to the site, which leads to a network of local walks.

Buses to Salisbury leave from the main road, approximately 150 metres from our site.

Vanessa and Malcolm look forward to welcoming you. For more information, please feel free to contact us by email.

Highview
We've recently returned from our third stay at Highview this year, and it would have been four had it not been for the unpredictable weather this year. We stayed for three nights to visit friends who live locally, but there's also plenty to see and do in the immediate area as well as further afield. We had a lovely lunch on the second day at The White Hart in Over Wallop, lovely cosy pub, pleasant staff and the food was really good. The pub has a hygiene rating of '5' and as someone who once had their holiday cut short and spent two weeks suffering the after effects of a dodgy pub ham sandwich, that's very reassuring. Danebury iron age hill fort is close by, fascinating history and amazing views, and a couple of miles further along is Stockbridge where a visit to Houghton Lodge is definitely worthwhile. Lovely gardens and grounds to wander around and the house is beautiful. If you do visit and feel that the house looks familiar, it might be because it's been used as a filming location for several productions including a BBC adaptation of David Copperfield. We didn't have time to travel too far, but just a quiet drive around some of the pretty villages in the area is nice, with all the lovely thatched cottages to see, one of which our friends live in and which usually means a bump on the head for me as I walk through the front door to shouts of 'mind your head'! The site as always was perfect, with everything we needed and a warm welcome from Vanessa. Highview is adjacent to the Hillside club site, but separated by trees and a shady lane which acts as a lovely dog walk with a very well placed bin for dog waste. The whole area was very quiet and peaceful, and visitors to Highview can use the little shop on the club site, where a very pleasant lady who was serving gave us lots of information regarding a query I had about gas bottles. Another very enjoyable stay and we're looking forward to returning next year.

Great CL with a Warm Welcome

Highview
Returned to this site and stayed for 3 nights, wonderful views and a warm welcome. Grass cut and collected by mower, a welcome service. Levelling blocks needed due to sloping field, some blocks are made available by the EHU point. Thanks Vanessa, will return when in the area

Idyllic location

Highview
We stayed 3 nights having previously stayed on the adjacent Club Site a few years ago. The views from Highview as the name implies are superb and all pitches are aligned to make the most of them. The site is immaculate with an information shelter with book exchange and free farm produce - delicious rhubarb and flower bulbs! The welcome from Vanessa was warm and helpful in every way.The chemical disposal point was worthy of any Club site with clean gravel and flush water to hand. The site is some way from from places of interest and Salisbury traffic is manic( we used park and ride)but the cathedral and Ted Heath's house(Arundells) should not be missed - we also had a pleasant visit to Stockbridge. The quality and peacefulness of this CL however more than compensates for a little extra driving.Highly recommended!

Great site

Highview
The owners clearly care and the necessary facilities are well provided. It's always good to read an entry in "why stay here" which is accurate. Don't be in a hurry if you catch a bus (2 a day) into Salisbury it takes a lot longer than the timetable states, but that's no fault of the CL!

Peaceful and convenient

Highview
We spent two nights at this lovely site, visiting dear friends we hadn't seen since before lockdown. We are returners to the caravan club and this was our first stay away in our new camper van. A warm and cheery welcome awaited us from owner Vanessa and we were blessed with wonderful weather, always a bonus. The site is very well maintained and slightly sloping, we didn't really notice it during the day, but we did when we went to bed so we've invested in some levelling blocks for next time. Lovely views, and great dog walks although our eleven year old sheltie preferred to lie on the grass and watch the world go by. We had wonderful site neighbours Jeff and Pauline who were more than helpful when we hit a snag with electric hook-up, totally our own fault, but Pauline turned out to be a real whizz in the electrical department and solved the issue in no time, she even has her own screwdriver (very impressive). Thank you Jeff and Pauline and hope to meet you again some day. The site is easy to find, straight off the main road, all the amenities are there, fresh water, recycling, waste water disposal, doggy poo bag disposal etc., and all kept clean and tidy. A lovely first stay away on this peaceful site for our return to touring and we will most certainly be back, I just hope Vanessa can find a space for us.
