Why stay here ...

Baydon Hill Farm CL site is located on the northern edge of Aldbourne on a working farm.

The site is a well maintained, peaceful, flat, grass site with easy access into it from the road from Aldbourne to Baydon. Each pitch has its own electric and water supply. The site offers stunning views across our arable and grass fields and on to the further countryside. The site affords spectacular sunsets and birds of prey are often seen flying, including Barn Owls and Red Kites.

The campsite has direct access to local footpaths, ideal for dog walking and extensive rambles.

Aldbourne is an idyllic village, half a mile from the campsite and about 6 miles north-east of Marlborough, Wiltshire, it is in a valley on the south slope of the Lambourn Downs and sits in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Aldbourne has a traditional, well-kept pond and beautiful village green, with a stunning 11th century church at one end. Aldbourne is famous for the filming of Dr Who and where the Band of Brothers were based in World War 2.

The village has a Heritage Centre (museum), which displays the village’s history from pre-historic times and includes the part Aldbourne played in World War 2. It has two lovely coffee shops and two pubs that serve excellent food and have live music. It also has a convenience store and a Post Office, which sells a range of local produce and high quality deli and cakes.

There is much to see in and around Aldbourne including evidence of prehistoric activity on the chalk downs and a barrow cemetery north-west of the village and a Bronze Age cross dyke to the north.

Aldbourne is an ideal location for walkers, runners, horse riders and cyclists to enjoy the many footpaths and byways which criss-cross the surrounding hills, and the Ridgeway is only 3 miles away.

Michael and I look forward to welcoming you to our CL site.

Peaceful CL

Stayed for 3 nights in February. Great views over the fields and a cracking sunset. EHU and water on your pitch, great value for money. Owners of this working farm were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely and quiet and easy access to surrounding villages.

Lovely little CL on a country farm. NIce pitches, well trimmed grass and each pitch laid out with own water supply and EHU bollard. Excellent view over the valley.

Great little place

Stayed here for 3 nights in early April. It's a small site, the pitches are a good size and there is EHU and water on each pitch. You can park where you want to, depending on what's available as the pitches are marked. The view is of open countryside. You're... Show more

1/4 mile from Aldbourne village with its many facilities

This is now my favourite CL. Access was very easy and the site was quiet and spacious. The views are incredible and we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets. As mentioned by others we didn't come across the owners and couldn't find them, but paid an elderly gentleman in an adjoining cottage which... Show more

Stay ruined by one selfish (permanent?) dog owner

Great site, very well kept. facilities good. However, 1 camper (who may be a farm worker as he seems always to be there) thinks the field is his personal dog exercise space. Sending his dog past my van several times a day, even though he MUST know it upsets my... Show more

Lovely views, excellent walking

We had an impromptu stay for a couple of nights and loved the site and the area. The walking and local pubs are excellent. The farmer was very friendly and chatty and we were pleased they had made the extra effort to give each pitch its own tap. This... Show more
