Why stay here ...

Our CL site is set in a peaceful location in a small village on the east facing slope of the Pennines with stunning views across the countryside. Children and well behaved pets are very welcome. The site has grassed and hard standing pitches (some sloping) with electrical hook-up and plenty of space for awnings etc. The site is securely locked at all times.

The local pub is a 2 minute walks away which serves home-made pie and peas. Behind the pub is a public children's play area. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walkers as there are plenty of public footpaths in all directions and we are also set along the Pennine Trail which is ideal for walking and cycling. Quite a few of the walks from our CL are circular including 2 nearby reservoirs one of which is pushchair friendly. There are plenty of local shops, café's and restaurants in nearby Denby Dale which is approx 1.5 miles away and also has a train station. Our site is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area which offers lots of attractions in nearby Penistone, Holmfirth (Last of The Summer Wine) and the village of Cawthorne which has the fantastic Cannon Hall Park complete with farm, café and farm shops. Also nearby is Bretton Sculpture Park and the Yorkshire Mining Museum.

The Tour de France is also passing through the area.

We provide a good returnable information pack on arrival with walks, maps, attractions and nearby shops, pubs and restaurants.

If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to meeting you.

Lovely small site in a great location.

Holly Tree Cottage
Great little site with pleasant owners. Alison was very cheerful with us. Small problem gaining access, but we had a laugh about it. We only stayed for two nights due to a fridge problem, but would have stayed longer. Nice village with good pub selling good pies. Great views. Would definitely go again. Michael and Anne

Stayed here for one night. It is a gem of a site! Would highly recommend! Ashley and Alison were very friendly and welcoming and the site was very well cared for. Lovely views and a delight to listen to all the bird song in the evening. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Beautiful Site

Holly Tree Cottage
Visited here May 2024 we were given a lovely welcome from Alison .This is a really tidy well kept site but we were disappointed that there wasn't a bus service within one mile as stated in the Caravan Club book we have a motor-home and rely on buses because of the difficulty parking in towns. We had to walk to Denby Dale approx one and a half mile to catch a bus. I would return as the walk was quite pleasant into Denby Dale across fields

Excellent site. Easy access from the M1. Grass surface fine for the caravan even after all the rain this winter (car parked on hard standing). Lovely views. Very friendly and helpful owner. Lots to see and do in the area - will be great for walking later in the year.when the fields have dried. Sorry to have missed lambing by only a few days.

Wow!

Holly Tree Cottage
What a find! This is an amazing CL. The owners were so helpful and friendly. Really made us feel at home. The views from the site were breathtaking and so were the walks. We were made to feel welcome at the local pub and the pie and peas were great. We will be returning! If you like walking, good pubs, and a warm welcome-this is the site for you.
