Why stay here ...

This CL is in a quiet location with a pretty wildflower meadow and a pond where the CL owner has kindly put a bench so you can sit and relax and enjoy the great outdoors and perhaps cook your evening meal on a BBQ and chat with the other visitors. Seasonal produce such as home grown runner beans and tomatoes are for sale to raise money for charity.

In the nearby village of Walberton there is a pub serving home cooked food and the village also has a launderette a post office and a convenience store

An easy 10 minute drive and you could be walking on the South Downs Way enjoying the long distance footpath and bridleway which is one of the 15 National trails in England and Wales.

The market town of Arundel is just 4 miles away with its medieval castle with 1000 years of history and magnificent grounds overlooking the River Arun. The current Duke still lives in the castle and it appeared in the 2009 film "The Young Victoria" as Windsor Castle. Arundel's ostentatious 19th century cathedral dominates the skyline

Within an easy driving distance sits Amberley Working Museum which is a 36 acre open-air museum dedicated to the industrial heritage of the South-East and exhibits a narrow gauge railway and a vintage bus service (both of which provide free nostalgic travel around the site). The Museum is also home to traditional crafts people such as a blacksmith and a potter. Special Event days during the year include a Vintage Car Show and a classic motorbikes display.

Peaceful, pretty site with friendly, helpful hosts.

Winter Egg Farm
We are 6 days into an 8 night stay and have been most happy here. We have a hardstanding pitch in this level meadow. The pitch is a great size with plenty of privacy with a hedge to one side and the rear and some pretty trees to the front of the other side, still leaving space for a good sized garden area in addition to our 2 cars, the van and the awning. There's a pretty wildflower meadow with a couple of neatly mown tracks to walk. One leads to a pretty little pastel painted bench and table. Well behaved dogs are welcome and there is a small paddock where we were allowed to let them off lead. Roger and Shirley couldn't be more welcoming and we will definitely be coming back. The 6amp electricity hasn't been a problem as we have cooked mainly on gas. The 6 amp runs the fridge and water heater or microwave no problem. A gem.of a site which I'vealready recommended to several people on Facebook.

7 nights wonderful stay

Winter Egg Farm
Shirley and Roger were most welcoming, good easy access for our 8ft wide Buccaneer. Pitches are well spaced apart and the site is a pleasant mixture of wild flowers and grass, and well tended cut grass on the pitches. It is a great base for numerous attractions including Arundel and the Slindon Estate which is great for dog walks. The site is very dog friendly with walks mowed into the wild flower areas. Just be prepared not to use an electric hob / hairdryer due to the 6amp supply, which is just about okay for the microwave with everything off. Not a criticism as it's stated on the details, but would be happy to pay an extra fiver a night for a 13amp supply (Could be due to cable size or other restriction). The site is very clean and well maintained with all the facilities you will need. We are looking forward to going back again, as it's not far from home but you feel 500 miles away.

Winter Egg Farm
Stayed here for 3 weeks. Shirley was very friendly and relaxed, the countryside is beautiful. Plenty of dog walks locally and pretty villages around. Easy access to the A27 and the A29. Highly recommend this CL.

A great place and great stay

Winter Egg Farm
We have just arrived home after a great long weekend stay at Winter egg farm. A very peaceful relaxed site with spacious pitches in a pretty and rural location and everything is very well kept. Loved the wildflower meadow and pond. We managed to do lots of walking with our dog in the local area along with fitting in a visit to a tea room or local pub en route. Slindon and Amberley are definitely worth a visit if you like walking. We had absolutely no problem with the electricity and managed to use all our appliances including a microwave, hair dryer and hair straighteners. We will definitely return to this beautiful and peaceful site.

Quit site

Winter Egg Farm

We liked the pitch and the site, but it was a pitty that there was not a toilet or shower and that is very unfortunately , otherwise we stayed longer.
