Why stay here ...

We are located just outside the village of Milford, Surrey, within the Surrey Hills area of outstanding natural beauty and with easy access to many miles of heath land and commons providing walking, running, cycling and riding routes with a number of beautiful villages and hamlets in the area (maps available). We are five minutes from the A3 with driving journey times of 45 minutes to Portsmouth or to London.

The pitches are located in a south facing field with an open outlook to grassland and woods. The CL site is grassed and flat with hard standings and 16amp electrical hook-ups.

The site is very conveniently located near to a mainline rail station (Portsmouth to London Waterloo) enabling trips to London’s theatre land and shops plus Portsmouth’s historical dockyard etc. Very close by (app 500 yds) is Marsh Farm Fishery, a large and renowned Carp fishery attracting anglers from far and wide. Milford Golf Club – Pay and Play, is also a few minutes walk up the lane.

Nearby attractions (15 minutes drive or less) include:

  • Winkworth Arboretum GU8 4AD (a National Trust property whose grounds and tea room are open all year round except 24 & 25 December).
  • Busbridge Lakes GU8 4AY 2.4 miles/5minutes (a Grade II heritage garden and parkland with over 130 different waterfowl, normally open on Bank Holidays).
  • Godalming Museum GU7 1AQ (open Tuesdays – Saturdays).
  • Loseley Park 16th century House & Gardens GU3 1HS (house, tea room and walled gardens open Sunday – Thursday afternoons from 1st May – 31st July; walled gardens also open 5th – 28th August; shop and various other events throughout the year).
  • Watts Gallery and Watts Chapel GU3 1DQ (tea room and exhibitions throughout the year, 10.30 – 5.00 Tuesdays – Sundays, and on Bank Holiday Mondays).
  • The Sculpture Park at Churt GU10 2LH – over 600 sculptures on two miles of trails in a wildlife inhabited arboretum (10am to 5pm all year round except 24 & 25 December), dogs on leads welcome – plus there is a pub/restaurant situated just a few yards from the park.
  • The Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham GU10 1DE gives guided brewery tours and you can also try/buy the beer! 01252 783000.
  • Ramster Gardens Chiddingfold GU8 4SN – open mid March to November.

Just under 25 minutes drive takes you to the starting point for boat trips on a newly restored section of the Wey & Arun Canal (April to October) which is beside a village pub The Onslow Arms, Loxwood RH14 0RD which serves reasonably priced hearty food. Out of season the pub is a good starting point for walking along the towpath.

Nearby towns are: Godalming with a good range of restaurants; Farnham offering restaurants and excellent shopping and Guildford which offers all of these plus a theatre where many shows open before moving to London.

Nearby facilities a ten minute walk away include an excellent butcher, wine merchant, and local food stores as well as a farm shop which also hosts a farmers market on the third Sunday of the month.

A super site.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely site, found it easily and enjoyed looking at the sheep in the adjacent fields. The electric has a meter system, with £1.50 per night included in the site fee, which is a fair way to pay for any extra that... Show more

Perfect spot

What a lovely site. Absolutely perfect for our needs with a recent visit to family in Cranleigh. One of the best CLs for access (provided you follow the recommended route) and so ideally situated for the surrounding area with superb access to the A3 and other major roads.... Show more

So near, but yet so far

A five pitch site in an oasis. So close to everything but still in the countryside. Railway station so close, to London or Portsmouth. Local shops an easy walk. We were there when the farmers market was open on the Sunday. Bus to Guildford, which was a nice surprise. The... Show more

A gem of a site!

What a lovely peaceful site in a busy area of Surrey, not far off the A3 and fast access to London, Portsmouth or anywhere in between. Beautiful local countryside, with so many wooded and heathland areas to walk, you're spoilt for choice. The site itself is flat and levelling... Show more

Being Countryside dwellers from Cornwall we loved this site. A gem amidst populated areas of Godalming, Guildford and to the coast.

Easy access, Good welcome from the owner who explained about the electric metering. First £1.50 is included in daily fee, any excess units are charged for on leaving. An excellent idea in our opinion. In our experience lately many sites are just adding on as much as £5... Show more
