The Unruly Pig
Multi award winning gastropub offering fresh, seasonal, British food with an Italian influence - 'Britalian'.
View and BookKeith and Alex would like to welcome you to their new CL set in 2 acres of the Suffolk countryside.
Our site is quite large and set in open meadows with mature trees. We are easily accessed off a main road with paved private roadway onto the site itself which is laid with meadow grass.
Suffolk is known for its varied countryside and stunning scenery and the site does not disappoint being located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as designated by local planning laws. There is passing traffic during the daytime but the evenings tend to be peaceful. Being situated in the countryside during late summer evenings we have spotted deer coming onto the site, both Muntjac and Roe.
For those of you interested in such things, the local Rendlesham Forest was the site of the famous alleged UFO visitation in 1980 and there is a site dedicated to the event, a couple of miles away.
The area being flat is known as a cycling destination and is popular with people coming over from the continent for cycling holidays.
We love spending time in the local area. Here are some of our favourites:
The history of our name:
The site was originally known as Leg of Mutton Field and you will see it is in that shape! Our understanding is that it was purchased as part payment of a bar bill from a local landowner and became Wayside Nurseries and supported a family for many years. The bungalow on the site was a prefab building re-sited after the second world war for the recently de-mobbed. The second owner renamed the site after the Four Steps of Life, being Infancy, Childhood, Adolescence, and Adulthood. We have kept the name and look forward to sharing our new CL with you.
