CL of the Year Winners 2022 - Best Newcomer Award

Garden House CL Site is situated just on the outskirts of Tattingstone Village, and set within the grounds of our home. We are an adult only, dog friendly site. Although dogs must be on a lead within the site area at all times, we do have a fully fenced in secure area where you can let your dog’s run free and enjoy a game of ball. They are also welcome to explore our wild life area.

We have a mix of hand standing, and grass pitches, set in a lovely meadow. All pitches are spacious, level and well drained, and have 16 amp hook up points. Our information hut will provide you with lots of ideas and suggestions for days out in the local area.

We have an area of approximately three quarters of an acre which we have left for wildlife to enjoy, with mown paths around which you are free to explore. This area is not fenced, in order to allow for wildlife to come and go as they please. We have an abundance of birds and wildlife that visit the garden which include Mistle Thrush/Song Thrush/Green & spotted Woodpeckers/Gold Finches and Skylarks just to name a few.

There are many countryside walks direct from the site to explore. Alton water is a short walk away, or you could take the short drive to the café/visitor area and hire a bike or learn how to paddle board. The White Horse Tattingstone is a pleasant forty minute walk. This is a very old traditional Pub, or you could try the excellent Kings Head at Stutton or Brantham Bull in Brantham both being just a few miles drive.

There are many attractions to visit, including Jimmy’s Farm (as seen on tv), Suffolk Food Hall, Dedham Vale and Flatford Mill (Constable Country), or Colchester Zoo. You could also visit Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo, Minsmere RSPB Reserve, Woodbridge, or Helmingham Hall Gardens and Beth Chatto Gardens just to mention a few.

Access to our site is directly from the A137, so easy access. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Garden House.

Wonderful CL

Garden House
On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by Martin and Mandy, who gave us all our information we needed to enjoy our stay, and showed us our pitch (no 4) The site was absolutely immaculate, with well spaced out pitches with EHU, there was also a beautifully landscaped wildlife area with seating for relaxing, and another enclosed 'off lead' dog run enclosure which was fantastic for our 2 Sprockers ( dog toys included). The site was extremely peaceful and in beautiful surroundings. There is a footpath directly from the site which takes you to Alton Water, which has a perimeter of over 8 miles, and 400 acres of Nature Trails, Cycling Routes, Fishing Spots and Water sports, not to mention Pubs and a cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for 2 nights 10th and 11th May 2024 but wish it could have been longer. We will definitely be back. Well Done to Martin and Mandy for being great Hosts. Rob & Amanda

Cracking

Garden House
We all had a cracking time at Garden House CL one of best CLs we’ve stayed at and will be definitely going back. Milo our cockerpoo enjoyed the dog exercise area including playing with the toys left out, nice little touch. Good information hut with a little tuck shop. Including in the hut was items to buy for a charity that Garden House is supporting which Mrs B brought another jigsaw! We did an easy well signposted walk around the top half of Alton water with a good pub stop at the White Horse half way round. Thanks to Mandy and Martin who have worked so hard to keep their site immaculate, see you again soon.

Beautiful CL

Garden House
We stayed in November 2023 and what a lovely CL this is . Its well planned out with plenty of room between pitches , Martin and Mandy were very welcoming and work hard to keep this CL immaculate, there is a information shed with maps of where to walk and what's on in the area there is also an honesty box to buy basic essentials and home made jam the raspberry one was lovely . Alton Water is not far to walk from the site and there is a cafe and on a wet and windy day it was nice to stop and have a hot chocolate , there is a garden centre not far away which does good meals and great walks by the Orwell Bridge , we will be back thank you for a lovely stay Jan and Cliff Wyer pitch 3

What can I say that hasn't been said already.

Garden House
Just spent a very relaxing weekend at Garden House and we have never been to a more immaculately kept site. Both Martin and Mandy couldn't be more welcoming. The layout of the pitches is spot on. We have a small dog and the two exercise areas are great especially with one being fully fenced. Easy access to some lovely walks to the nearby Alton water and villages. Have already booked for next year.

Wow, immaculate site!

Garden House
The Garden House CL is the most immaculate CL we have ever stayed on! With the warmest of welcomes from Martin and Mandy we were set for a lovely long weekend. All facilities are to a high standard, well thought out, clean and tidy. Some 'essentials' available in the information hut were a god send when we ran out of tea bags!! Extremely doggy friendly although we don't actually have one and lots of walks into the beautiful Suffolk countryside. A little road noise but this did not detract from our stay. Cycling around some of the back lanes was lovely although you do need to go on to the busier A137 to access them. Would most definitely recommend this site.
