Why stay here ...

CL of the Year Winners 2022 - Best Newcomer Award

Garden House CL Site is situated just on the outskirts of Tattingstone Village, and set within the grounds of our home. We are an adult only, dog friendly site. Although dogs must be on a lead within the site area at all times, we do have a fully fenced in secure area where you can let your dog’s run free and enjoy a game of ball. They are also welcome to explore our wild life area.

We have a mix of hand standing, and grass pitches, set in a lovely meadow. All pitches are spacious, level and well drained, and have 16 amp hook up points. Our information hut will provide you with lots of ideas and suggestions for days out in the local area.

We have an area of approximately three quarters of an acre which we have left for wildlife to enjoy, with mown paths around which you are free to explore. This area is not fenced, in order to allow for wildlife to come and go as they please. We have an abundance of birds and wildlife that visit the garden which include Mistle Thrush/Song Thrush/Green & spotted Woodpeckers/Gold Finches and Skylarks just to name a few.

There are many countryside walks direct from the site to explore. Alton water is a short walk away, or you could take the short drive to the café/visitor area and hire a bike or learn how to paddle board. The White Horse Tattingstone is a pleasant forty minute walk. This is a very old traditional Pub, or you could try the excellent Kings Head at Stutton or Brantham Bull in Brantham both being just a few miles drive.

There are many attractions to visit, including Jimmy’s Farm (as seen on tv), Suffolk Food Hall, Dedham Vale and Flatford Mill (Constable Country), or Colchester Zoo. You could also visit Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo, Minsmere RSPB Reserve, Woodbridge, or Helmingham Hall Gardens and Beth Chatto Gardens just to mention a few.

Access to our site is directly from the A137, so easy access. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Garden House.

Wonderful weekend

Garden House
Stopped at Garden House for two nights to break the journey on our way to the Norfolk Broads. What an enchanting CL, as others have said, it is an oasis of calm and a pleasure to stay there. Many thanks to Bev & Andy.

A wonderful experience

Garden House
We have just spent a really wonderful six nights on this gorgeous site. We were pitched overlooking a wild grassy area on a very generous hard standing. At dusk we were able to watch a family of foxes playing happily in the wild area and trying to catch insects. The gardens around the site are full of lovely flowers and shrubs. There is also a designated enclosed dog area where dogs can run off lead. Access to water was easy and the waste disposal facility was straightforward and simple to use. These facilities were immaculate. The garden hut was full of helpful information and maps plus a few emergency supplies for anyone who had forgotten something really essential. We’ve visited many CL’s over the last few years and this is one of the better laid out sites obviously designed by caravan/motorhome owners. We shall definitely return.

Great Stay

Garden House
Such a welcoming site with top notch facilities for water filling & toilet emptying (immaculate).Superb information hut and plant sales too. Martin & Mandy go out of their way to be helpful. A great recommendation for a restaurant on my birthday. They even left me a card on the day too 😘 The garden is a credit to them both. Lucky to see the King's birthday flight. Such a lot of places within easy reach. Only one thing that could make it better would be WiFi 🤔 Would definitely return. 10 nights June 2024

Stunning

Garden House
Mandy and Martin have set the bar very high which many CL's will find difficult to match. A very helpful booking process and assistance to have adjoining pitches for friends arriving 2 days later for my birthday. There is very little that I can say that has not already been said about this fantastic CL. Its like having a pitch at the Chelsea flower show. We will be returning. Thank you.

Friendliest Site

Garden House
Mandy and Martin are so welcoming. Staying on their site is akin to staying with friends. The site is immaculately maintained, and yet they're very easy going and laid back, always keen to stop what they're doing and have a chat. They'll go out of their way to help if needed. The pitches are spacious with a lovely view across the park, and an enclosed paddock for our four-legged friends to catch a ball or otherwise run free. Beautiful walks immediately available, and a variety of pubs or restaurants nearby. We highly recommend a visit. Peter & Dot
