Why stay here ...

Jamie, Angie and their family welcome you to stay at Meadowcroft.

We have five grasses pitches all with electric hook up. Located a stones throw away from the historic town centre where you can enjoy a fine selection of friendly pubs, eateries and independent shops along with high street favourites. Bungay is a great base to explore the Waveney Valley, a gateway to the Broads National Park. Southwold and Dunwich are 1/2 an hours drive away.

Bring your bikes and canoes too. There are some great routes to explore whether by road or waterway. You can launch canoes from various locations including Bungay Staithe which is close by. Or enjoy a gentle round of golf.

Give us a ring, we are happy to help and we look forward to seeing you soon. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

5 days/4 nights in July 24

Meadowcroft
Access into the site is difficult if approaching the entrance along Beccles Road from the centre of Bungay so approach from the other direction on Beccles Road, or, off Kents Lane directly opposite the entrance. There is plenty of space to pull-up in front of the CL’s farm gates. Take care when exiting as there is a blind bend to the left. The site is large enough for 4 outfits but not the 5 we had on our first night. The pitch numbering stops at 4 and if it carried on, 5 would be too close to 4 and on sloping ground. Arrival is from 1400 hrs which is later than other sites. We didn’t see the owners until the morning after we arrived as they had been on holiday. This might explain why the grass needed cutting and the large single refuse bin hadn’t been emptied for a while and was fly ridden. Neither were addressed during our stay. Working out bus times and routes around Bungay was a challenge. We caught the 580/1 to Beccles and back on one day and to Diss and back on another. Like Bungay, both are good to visit. There are other bus services we didn’t use to Norwich, Halesworth, Great Yarmouth and possibly Southwold. Many but not all busses pass the site along Beccles Road where the traffic can be seen and heard. This and the proximity of housing gives the site an urban feel. That said, we liked walking and cycling from the site and walked what we assumed was the Bungay Loop. Some printed advice on routes would be nice. The Bungay library was a source of local information and the Museum and Castle might have been but they were both shut during our visit.

A long weekend

Meadowcroft
We recently stayed for a weekend just gone, and this site is in a perfect location very easy to find and the site is in a very peaceful spot a little gem tucked away just of the main road. Jamie & Angie are very welcoming .Site caters for 5 caravans so nice for peace and relaxing. The site is very clean and has trees around the permitter of the site. The surrounding villages. Are easy to get to Bungay a short walk there is a lovely little walk by the river into Bungay and there a few village pubs etc to have a drink and food which we tried while we were staying here .There is a short drive into Beccles and there is a nice little pub on the river worth trying then you can take a short walk in Bungay town centre lots of shops and a few places to have a drink and food. There is a co-op just up the road from the site approx. 5-10 minute walk there is also a petrol garage next to the supermarket.. Overall a lovely little place thanks Jamie. We have already booed to return in a few weeks time. Thanks Again Andy

Great site

Meadowcroft
We have stayed here many times. We absolutely love it despite been beside a main road you don’t really notice the noise. You can hear the birds singing and at night you can hear the deer in the distance watch the squirrels running up and down the trees. The area is well spaced out it is a 10 minute walk to centre of Bungay and a 5 minute walk to the local Co Op store. There is lots to go and see in the area. Jamie and Angie are great host make you feel very welcome. We will be going back a lot more as we love it.

Very nice site

Meadowcroft
We stayed here for a week in September and had a really good time. The pitches are well spaced out with easy access for fresh water and grey waste. The elsan point is in the family garden but easy to access. It is an easy walk into Bungay which has a selection of shops and the local Co-op is also nearby. Angie and Jamie are very pleasant hosts and have a good knowledge of the area for walks, bus stops etc.
