National Memorial Arboretum
A beautiful inspiring place with 150-acres of arboretum and home for more than 400 memorials.
View and BookThe Club CL site at Kings Orchard Marina on the Coventry canal is set in 20 acres of peaceful Staffordshire countryside close to the historic city of Lichfield. The marina has some 90 berths most of which will be taken up by traditional, brightly painted narrow boats - the floating caravans of Britain's unique canal heritage. There is an on site caretaker available to take your booking, direct you to your pitch and answer any questions you might have.
The CL site, which is level with grass pitches, is bordered by the canal on one side, and on the others by mature trees and has a fantastic view across the marina and far into the distance across open country. Water and electric hook ups are provided for each caravan or motor home, immaculate showers and toilets are a few steps away as is the Elsan disposal unit and there is a food preparation area at one end of the facilities building. Waste disposal facilities are provided. TV reception is good as is that for most mobile phone networks. Dotted around the beautifully landscaped, tree lined property are barbecues and seating areas free for all to enjoy. A secure gate leads onto the canal towpath offering pleasant walks in both directions. You will be provided with a key for this and other security gates for use during your stay.
There is a second larger facilities building housing the on site caretaker's office and shop selling maps, guide books, toilet chemicals, gas, coal and other items.
Kings Orchard Marina is close to many places of interest including The National Memorial Aboretum, the UK's centre of remembrance, Drayton Manor, home of Thomas the Tank Engine and many fantastic rides, Tamworth Castle, Foxfield standard gauge steam railway and the city of Lichfield with its 800 year old Cathedral. Ask our caretaker for guide books and directions to these and many other places worth visiting. Please note there is no public transport nearby.
If you are looking for somewhere special with plenty of space, peaceful and quiet and well away from the beaten track Kings Orchard Marina is for you. Sensibly priced with no irritating add ons for this that and the other, offering a warm welcome to adults, children and well behaved dogs from March to October with a terrific pub a short walk away and shops an easy car ride, we believe our newest CL site will appeal to all Caravan Club members looking to get away from it all and relax in the most tranquil of surroundings.
Fishing is also available from the Canal towpath (only with a licence).
Why not call our caretaker today and make a booking. You won't regret it!

I cannot agree less with the poor review recently posted about Kings Orchard Marina. This CL site is excellent. Ideally situated for the National Memorial Arboretum, an excellent pub within walking distance along the tow path. Facilities kept extremely clean. Dogs extremely well catered for with a little garden area... Show more

Stopped here for one night on the way up to York. There is a lot of HS2 works in the region and because of that the lane as directed is closed and you are diverted via Huddleford lane. This lane is very tight with very few passing places and you have... Show more

When I phoned to make the booking the person I spoke to referred me to the website where I had to pay in full when I made the booking although it states that payment can be made on arrival. The marina is down a road with lots of potholes and narrow... Show more

We stayed in June 2023 on the separate CL pitches. Good sized pitches in a horseshoe each with a tap and electricity pole. Plenty of bbqs and benches around for you to use if you haven’t brought your own. Toilet block was clean and tidy no matter what time... Show more

Our second visit to the CL site after 2 years, great place. Very convenient location, friendly and helpful staff with access to the marina facilities (spotless showers, thank you!) We hired the day boat for a first time outing on the canal, great fun and highly recommended. We also visited... Show more

Well we have just spent the most amazing weekend here! The weather just made it for us, as we were there during the UK's hottest day on record. We found the site and the staff to be lovely. Nice, well kept CL surrounded by trees. The pitches in the private... Show more

Did a 1 night stay without the kids as an extremely rare treat! We opted to stay on the CL part of the site, a small field at the top of the site. It was so quiet up there, surrounded by trees. 5 pitches in a horseshoe on grass. We... Show more
