Named by the Times as one of the Best Place to Live in Britain, Frome is a charming and peaceful town in Somerset with plenty of history and places of interest.
Take a walk through the town centre for a wide selection of independent retailers, galleries and boutiques - and be sure to look out for history everywhere you go. Cheap Street, for example, has buildings dating to the 16th and 17th centuries and has a stream running down the middle of the pedestrian area.
Markets are held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while the Frome Independent is a mini festival that runs on the first Sunday of each month from March to December. It attracts thousands of visitors by bringing together the best local food, drink, flowers, artists and designers, as well as plenty of retro, vintage and collectables sellers.
