Hestercombe Gardens
50 acres of Somerset with a Georgian Landscape Garden, the Victorian Shrubbery and Edwardian Formal Gardens.
View and BookThe CL is set in the grounds of our home, Higher Sea House. Pitches are at the far end of the property, quite level and overlook our potager, garden and orchard, whilst enjoying the open aspect of the countryside views. The thatched 17/18 century house is a Grade 11 listed, former farmhouse enjoying easy access off the road through a wide drive-way and courtyard to the CL. Pitches are suitable for both caravans and motorhomes. We recycle on site. Only green additives allowed in the Chemical Closet point please, as this goes into a septic tank. Gas BBQs are allowed. The site is surrounded by countryside, but only just over a mile from Ilminster and all its facilities.
This small market town, not only has its famous Minster and Arts Centre but also a range of independent specialist shops, pubs and restaurants with Perry’s Cider Mills close by. There is a Tesco and Co-op in the town. Fishing, golfing, walking and cycling can easily be accessed from Ilminster. Route 33 of the National Cycling Network, Sustrans, is just 0.5 miles from the CL. Additionally, this route is pleasant for dog walking or strolling into Donyatt and The George Inn. If you prefer to use public transport then Route 30 bus can take you to Axminster/Chard/Taunton.
Higher Sea House is an ideal location for a short or longer break, with easy access to all major routes. There are numerous places of interest to suit all tastes such as The Blackdown Hills, Neroche Forest, Barrington Court, Montacute House and of course the Jurassic Coast and Lyme Regis.
Myles and Myra look forward to welcoming you to our CL at Higher Sea House.
