Why stay here ...

The Coates Farm CL family run site was first established in 1973, the site is on a working farm in a 6 acre field where you are free to roam. We welcome children and pets.

Each pitch has an individual electric hook up point and water tap, with plenty of space.

On site we have toilet and washing facilities, and a selection of tourist information.

The Coates is within walking distance of the local historic market town of Much Wenlock, with its Olympic connections. We have beautiful rural views, with access to local easy and challenging walks. You will be a short drive from Church Stretton and The Shropshire Hills. We are centrally located in Shropshire for visiting Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Telford and much more.

On arrival please check the notice board for siting instructions, and we look forward to seeing you at The Coates soon.

Big pitches

Easy to get to straight off the main road, great for large caravans. Big pitches so neighbours a pleasant distance away. Easy to hook up electric & water. Laid back owners. Eggs for sale. 1 minute drive to Much Wenlock. Definitely recommend it.

We stayed here in September and facilities great with electric and water supply to every clearly marked pitch. Toilet for use and bins clearly placed including recycling facilities. We walked into Much Wenlock via the farmer's field and there were a good selection of local shops and tea rooms. We... Show more

Excellent Site

We stayed here for a couple of nights in our motorhome. It is very easy to get to and although very limited facilities, it is very peaceful and within easy reach of Much Wenlock (walking) and Bridgnorth (driving). We were able to catch a bus from Much Wenlock to Ironbridge.... Show more

Great site

This is a fantastic site. Our only issue was that there's just too much to see in the local area - stayed five nights but it wasn't enough! Definitely want to return. Felt like a good place to be based to see Ironbridge, Long Mynd, Ludlow etc.... Loved the spaciousness.... Show more

Sunny in Shropshire

We spent 4 nights at this lovely CL during the hot spell at the beginning of September & found it a lovely spot to relax & enjoy the countryside. Access is easy, although the entrance off the road is quite steep & could do with a bit of repair work.... Show more

Stunning site

Myself, my husband and our almost 15 year old daughter have had a lovely few days here- in fact we stayed an extra night. We love quiet sites, so always choose CL ones, and we found this one to be perfect. We walked into Much Wenlock and visited Catherine’s Bakery... Show more

Fabulous site

We were lucky enough to be on this site during the sheep shearing period, and the owners were more than happy enough to let us into the shearing shed to see the shearers at work, very interesting, but it must be back breaking work! The site is a decent size and... Show more

Welcoming site in gorgeous part of the county

We went for three nights but stayed for 4 as the site and area were so beautiful. Jenny told us of a walk across the field to get into Much Wenlock which avoided the road. Ideal area for walking, cycling and running (if you don't mind hills!). We cycled over... Show more
