Why stay here ...
Quiet and spacious caravan-site in three acre Old Orchard with open views from the site.
Choice of mown grass pitches or hard standing available (up to 5 in use at any one time).
We provide Electric Hook-ups, and Water, and Emptying Tank for your own toilet. There is no toilet or shower block.
There is a footpath from the site which creates a shortcut to the pavement towards Ludlow (approximately 20 minutes walk) and in the other direction towards Mortimer Forest, good for dog walking and/or all day hike.
Bird watchers enthuse about the variety of species and other wildlife seen on or near the site.
This is the nearest CL to Ludlow so due to demand, we fill up quickly
A deposit will be requested to confirm bookings.
We have no special facilities for Children, but prior to the TICK BOX system online, showing ADULTS ONLY or FAMILIES WELCOME, we saw only a few children each year. The occasional family has never caused a problem to other guests. We would never accept more than one family at any one time.

Tranquil site
Hucks Barn Farm
A beautiful spacious site and so peaceful.
We were greeted by the lady of the house who gave the choice of pitch to ourselves. Had a nice chat with her about the history of the farm her and how long her family had lived there. Obviously she has lots of local knowledge and welcomed questions.
It doesn’t matter where you pitch on this site you will have nice views and ample space. The site is well away from the road and very secure.
We have a well behaved dog and he was able to wonder and play outside of our caravan off lead and without being distracted by others, definitely a bonus for him!
Walk into town is 20 minutes through part field and narrow footpath along main rd. Ludlow town is lovely having the Castle and regular market days. Worth walking down the hill at bottom of castle if it’s a warm day as it’s nice sitting by the water and good doggy paddling.
Check out market days in Ludlow as they are worth a visit with lots of local produce. Too many places to mention as regards where else in the area to visit. I’d suggest do your research before you leave home as you’ll be spoilt for choice otherwise.
I think it’s worth us all remembering and being grateful and having respect for farm farm owners that allow us to stay in such lovely locations as this, for obvious reasons they are putting trust in us allowing us to be based on there property.
We would definitely return.
Lovely Site
Hucks Barn Farm
This is a lovely peaceful site set in an old orchard with large areas of wild flower meadow. Great views of local countryside and easy access for walking.
Pitches all have electric and water and are well spaced out so you are hardly aware of over caravans. Some pitches are on a slope whilst others are flat on hard standing.
Great location for visiting Ludlow and other local attractions.
Owner was very helpful on arrival and showed us to our pitch.

I generally don’t do reviews but after a pretty shocking experience I just to hard warn others. Wow where to start - we booked this site back in December for a stay 2 weeks ago. We’d duly paid the deposit and the balance in plenty of time and received no comms, confirmation, info about the protocol for arriving at all SO…
We duly rocked up at about 1pm on our arrival day, made our way up to the site entrance stopped at the big sign that was very unclear about instructions for arrival so we promptly headed on to the site as we’ve done many times before on CLs thought we’d get pitched up and then advise the hosts of our arrival spotted a couple of empty pitches and started to pitch up. Well 20mins to that in a screaming shouty and frankly damn right rude and aggressive woman came on to the site shouting at us and accusing us of trespassing, throwing shouty comments at us about who do we think we are just pulling onto the site without checking with them 1st. Well obviously we apologised profusely for the confusion and explained we had no other instructions from them but no that wasn’t good enough and she continued to verbally abuse us, when calmly asked what she’d like us to do now she threw out a ‘I want you to leave’ statement.
After many more apologies she went on to say clearly she should have called us to confirm details but she hadn’t so not our fault, she then suggested it was our fault for booking so far in advance and why did we do that, she even then continued to try and blame us for the confusion. Numerous times I asked what would she like us to do or move to another pitch for instance but she just couldn’t get over her anger over the confusion caused by them. 20 minutes this went in for until I finally insisted we’d just move pitches to a grass one she had suggested was where she wanted us.
Well if you want a nice visit to Ludlow and south Shropshire then fill your boots it’s a lovely location BUT definitely dont stay here unless you want your head biting off by a frankly rude, aggressive and horrible woman to kick start your trip. It didn’t spoil our trip why would it it wasn’t us that was apocoliptic over a nothing issue.
We will never go back to this site I’m afraid after such a shocking verbal attack.
And to top it off this CL is breaking the rules by having more than 5 units staying there at any one time oops appears they can’t count either.
Avoid the place like the plague.

This large tranquil site is just the most perfect way to enjoy the wonderful town of Ludlow.
The helpful owner will take you to the best pitch for your unit and make sure all is well. Then you may relax amongst the orchard, enjoying the peace and quiet. Bliss.

Hucks Barn Farm
Hucks Barn is a lovely site, this the second time we have stayed there, it is set in an orchard, pitches are spaced out so you can hardly se your neighbour, paths are kept mowed but areas for wild flowers and insect are let to grow. Ideal for dogs, footpaths direct from the top of the site. Easy walk into Ludlow, we hope to be back before too long, ignore the comments re the site owners we were made welcome, just wait to shown your pitch.
