Quiet peaceful CL in a beautiful area

Chapel Lawn Farm
We stayed at Chapel Lawn Farm CL over the Easter weekend. This is a quiet, peaceful site with a stream running through the field. Electric hookups and water. Helpful owner. Beautiful area for walking. We also cycled to Knighton and enjoyed the Offas Dyke centre.

A hidden gem

Chapel Lawn Farm
We came across this CL by accident - a pleasant surprise. Lovely location with the stream running alongside the field, individual picnic table for each pitch, and plenty of information available in the box provided. Super walks from the field, and very clean and efficient services. We stayed an extra night since it was so peaceful.

Peace and countryside

Chapel Lawn Farm
A lovely field with a brook at the bottom of a valley near a small village. Lovely scenery and walks - a walk up to chapel lawn (ancient fort) is well worth it - watch out for cows though! Farmer is lovely and friendly. No mobile phone reception at the field (ee, O2 or sky). Country lane on approach to field (from New Invention) is narrow with passing places, but very quiet. Small town of Knighton is about 15-20 mins away has a co-op, fuel and some nice cafes.

Peace and beauty, away from it all

Chapel Lawn Farm
This is a tranquil site in a peaceful valley which feels miles from anywhere. The field has plenty of space, and the picnic table for each site is a lovely touch. There are fabulous views across the valley, and lots of sheep and cattle around. The farmhouse is a little way away, in the tiny village, but James visits the site from time to time to see that all is well. He suggests using his wifi outside his back door, but I could not pick it up. The grass cuttings are not collected, so the caravan needs regular sweeping. The only downside was the toilet emptying point, which is a septic tank with a metal grid covering: easy to drop things in besides your waste, which does not disappear. The local lanes are steep and winding, leading to tiny hamlets. The tiny town of Clun seems like a heaving metropolis, and has a mobile signal and cafes with wifi. We also visited Kington (a bit dilapidated, but with an excellent museum), Presteigne (Hampstead just inside Wales) and Knighton (large Co-Op). Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Hereford are not too far away if you are longing for the bright lights.

Tranquil site

Chapel Lawn Farm
Stayed here as an overnight stop on our Shropshire tour recently. Arrived in torrential rain to a site that although grass was well drained and accessible. The site is about 300m from the farm but when you arrive there is an information board with details of absolutely everything you need to know along with contact details for James. Even with the rain the site was tranquil with countryside views all around and a stream running through the site which must be lovely on a warm, dry day. Picnic benches around the site were a very nice touch. Great nights sleep without the sound of traffic. Woke up to a lovely view of the stream and fields. Despite the heavy rain on the previous night we drove off the site easily. James was very friendly and clearly proud of the site and its location. Would highly recommend Denise
