The town of Witney is situated in the English county of Oxfordshire, right on the River Windrush in the Cotswolds and just 12 miles from the city of Oxford.
It's a great place to spend a holiday, as it has all the amenities you would want, but has retained a quiet, village feel that's perfect for relaxation.
Witney is famous for its blanket-making and you can see this industrial past at the Witney and District Museum, as well as watch past farming techniques come to life at the Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
Other highlights include The Bishop's Palace ruins and Witney Lake and Meadows just a short walk from the town centre.
If you want to go shopping, Witney has an excellent mixture of big-brand names and independent boutiques, while all appetites will be catered for at the range of pubs, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance of one another.
