Why stay here ...

Set in rural Nottinghamshire, yet just 5 miles north of Nottingham City Centre, Tophouse Farm Club CL is a back to basics haven. The site is 0.75 acres and is a flat, well-drained grass site. There is one hard standing pitch and four grass, all with 360 degree rural views. Each pitch is divided by a small copse of trees and planted with snowdrops and daffodils and with a small bluebell wood in the middle of the site. Each pitch has its own bird table and nest box to encourage the local wildlife.

Access is through a 25 foot wide double gateway off a privately owned tarmac farm lane. This quiet CL is surrounded by farmland and overlooks horse paddocks to two sides with magnificent views of the recently converted Victorian Bestwood Pumping Station, now comprising private fitness facilities with a public bar and restaurant just 600 yards away.

What a great CL!

I stayed here for 2 nights in late May 2022 in my 6.5m motorhome. What a great site, well thought out, beautifully kept and hosted by a very pleasant owner. Each pitch is separated by trees, the CDP is easily accessible as is the fresh water. Booking was easy... Show more

Calming and relaxed site with genial host

Excellent location to enjoy some peace and tranquility in company of feathered friends. Beautifully maintained and managed. Genial host is a font of information for all those interested in local history, bird life and cider making. I can’t recommend too strongly

Really do not want to tell everyone about this Oasis!!

Its a spot on 5 pitch beautifully kept CL in a completely peaceful location. Everything you need is there, individual marked out large pitches, owners could not be more helpful. Open a bottle, sit back and watch the birds.

Quite Nice CL

Stayed for 4 nights recently. Everything was as expected based upon the previous reviews I had read before going. Its main advantage for us was the frequent bus service to Nottingham and Mansfield, with the bus stop being at the bottom of the lane leading to the CL. We were... Show more

Pleasant little hideaway haven

Just back from 3 nights here. A nice site, feels very secluded despite it's proximity to the A60. You can hear the traffic but it was not too bad and we barely noticed. Bestwood Country Park can be accessed from the site, about a 15-20 min walk to get in.... Show more

A lovely site

My wife and I stayed here during last weekends bank holiday and found the site just perfect. Access to the site off the quiet lane was great as it had a really wide gate. The pitches were divided by trees to give you privacy and the surrounding trees protected our... Show more

Useful February bolt hole

It is good to find CL's which open all year. Yes you have to pay winter rates - but I understand the electric usage argument. Note, that the farmhouse is passed as you drive down the road, with the site itself a field away up the road. We quite like... Show more
