Heronbrook CL is a secure site located on a small farm.
We are a family site and welcome well behaved dogs. We have sheep and other animals on the farm so please be responsible with your dogs.
The site is half a mile from the Grantham canal, ideal for walkers and cyclists alike. The canal footpath leads you to Cotgrave Country Park to the east and West Bridgford to the west.
There are several footpaths crisscrossing the area.
Three good local pubs are within half a mile.The three local pubs are the Rose & Crown, The Manvers in Cotgrave and The Sheperds at Stragglethorpe.
The site is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area being situated in the centre of Nottingham, Leicester, Newark and Melton Mowbray. We are twenty minutes from Melton, the rural food capital of the East Midlands with its famous Stilton Cheese and Pork Pies. We are twenty minutes from Newark on the recently renovated A46 with Newark Castle and the fabulous quaint old shops.
Nottingham City Centre, The National Water Sports Centre, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Notts County Football Club and Nottingham Forest Football Club are all a 15 minute ride away.
Leicester's King Richard III Visitor Centre, Leicester Cathedral and the National Space Centre are within a 40 minute drive. The Loughborough Great Central Railway is a 25 minute drive away. Both Nottingham and Leicester have Park & Ride facilities.

Quiet but small

Basic CL in peaceful location.
Stayed on this CL after a period of exceptionally wet weather, but thankfully the hard standing area was large enough for us to "share" with 2 other outfits. We didn't meet the owners, but found the payment envelopes in the shed, thank you. The site is level and well maintained,... Show more

Weekend Retreat
We were attending a local geocaching event and this site saved us the hassle of traveling across Nottingham each day. Site is well maintened and has envolopes in the cabin to fill out and put your payment in so you are not running around searchingfor the owner or worse still disturbing... Show more
