On the banks of the River Trent, the town of Nottingham has always been linked to the famous Robin Hood, but it does have plenty of other attractions.
Visitors may be tempted by the two large theatres and several art galleries, as well as the regular events taking place including the annual Nottingham Goose Fair.
Occurring in October, this traditional fair sees more than 500 attractions assemble on the town’s recreation ground, with highlights including a helter-skelter, ghost train and candy floss sellers.
Of course, Nottingham is famous for Sherwood Forest. Once the home of the Merry Men, it is now a great place for a family picnic.
