The small town of Haltwhistle is situated in the English county of Northumberland, just south of the Northumberland National Park and close to a section of Hadrian's Wall.
These highlights, together with the fact that it claims to be the geographic centre of Britain, make Haltwhistle hugely popular with tourists, from history enthusiasts to walkers and cyclists.
Indeed, the section of the wall closest to the town is among the most complete and there are also the ruins of Haltwhistle Castle and Tower to check out, so people flock to see them.
There is also an annual walking festival that highlights the array of trails that you can complete at any time of year.
Other Haltwhistle highlights include a timepiece museum, the Roman Army Museum, rare wildlife and plenty of pubs, tea shops and restaurants to suit any appetite.
