Chillingham Castle
Gardens, lakes, fountains one of the most haunted castles in England with a ‘Torture Chamber’ and Ghost tours.
View and BookChillingham Barns Caravan Site sits in the Heart of the North Northumberland countryside. Set on a farm between the rolling Cheviot Hills and breathtaking Northumbrian coast, it is rural, tranquil and peaceful.
Our site is a flat and spacious lawned area with easy, wide access, electric hook up and ample space for awnings. Adults, children and pets are welcome, and we have a short woodland path that all our visitors are more then welcome to use.
Chillingham Barns, although rural, is in easy reach of local amenities – Chatton village with a local pub and shop is approximately a mile away, and Wooler and Belford both six miles away. The area is popular with hill, moor and coastal walkers with the site itself a mile from the iron age hill fort of Ros Castle and Chatton Sandyford moor beyond, well known for its many public footpaths and historic Neolithic cup and ring carvings and stunning scenery.
The site is also perfectly situated to explore the local attractions. The historic market town of Alnwick, The Alnwick Garden and Castle are nearby as is the coast with its many castles such as Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Warkworth to name but a few. The Holy island of Lindisfarne is also a popular spot with visitors not far away. There are also coasteering, kayaking and windsurfing activities run throughout the summer on the coast. Closer to home, Chillingham Castle and the famous wild cattle park is also only five minute walk from our site, and Chatton Fishery a couple of miles down the road. We are also near to Rothbury and the Northumberland National Park, thirty minutes drive from the Scottish Borders and within an hour of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall.
So if you are after a peaceful getaway or a base to adventure and explore Northumberland, Chillingham Barns is your ideal spot.

Peaceful, quiet and surrounded by stunning scenery. A warm welcome from Ami, the owner, what more could you want?! The site itself is neat and tidy with all the basic facilities you would expect . Would definitely return when in that neck of the woods again.
