Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours - York
A culinary and cultural adventure visiting 5 different independent eateries to taste some great local fare.
View and BookHaxby Road Farm is in a perfect location on the north side of York city. It offers the best of both worlds with quick access to the city or out of town shopping centres, or countryside if you prefer. We are located about 2.5 away miles from the historic sights of the city centre, with a bus stop outside the site with regular services running to York. The No. 1 bus service goes approximately every 20 minutes with last bus back at about 23:00.
If you prefer the countryside, you can be in picturesque open fields within 2 minutes of walking, using the numerous bridleways and footpaths in the local vicinity. Access to the Ebor way and the river foss is about half a mile across open fields.
The site offers a variety of options for you to discover on your stay. Whether that be staying local, and enjoying the location, or visiting some of the highlights of North Yorkshire, such as Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Dalby Forrest, Castle Howard and so on which are easily accessible and less than an hour away.
Less than 5 minutes away, we have Clifton Moor, Monks Cross and Van Guard Park. There is a cinema, bowling, golf, climbing, swimming shopping and restaurants. York City Football Stadium is a 5 minute drive, or a 10 minute bike ride away. Here you will find lots of restaurants to refuel after your visit.
The town of Haxby is a right turn out of the site and just under the ring road, the centre is a 30 minute walk via safe pavement. There are a variety of shops, cafes and pubs.
The nearest pub is the Blacksmiths arms in Huntington Old Village, this is about a 15 minute walk along a bridleway. Turn left out of the site, walk past the school then take the road immediately left. Head towards the churchyard then over the Foss and the pub is straight ahead. It serves food but you need to book. There is also an indian restaurant called the Parvin within walking distance, if you turn right out of the site and walk into Haxby. It is about a 10 minute walk on pavement, just after the railway crossing.
Nearest convenience shop is in New Earswick, if you turn left out of the site its about a 10 minute walk along the pavement. There is also a coffee shop and chip shop.
Dogs won't get bored here. We are spoilt with numerous walks, and places to explore. The nearest pub is dog friendly too!
We live in the house close by, and one of us is usually about if there are any questions. There is alternative accommodation, if you fancy something different.
