Why stay here ...

Crockey Hill York Caravan Site is a peaceful site, only 10 minutes from the beautiful city of York and is perfect for a city break in a rural setting. The site is located on a large flat field with ample space for an awning, surrounded by mature trees and hedges. All our pitches have the option of electric hook up. We are open from March through to December with good draining sandy land for the winter months.

We have a communal drinking water tap, grey and waste disposal points and recycling facilities. We do not have a shower/toilet block.

There is a bus stop adjacent to the site which is a main bus route into York. The buses run regularly 7 days a week  throughout the day and night so you can visit all of York’s many tourist attractions, with late buses on a Friday/Saturday night so you can enjoy the many bars and restaurants on offer.

McArthur Glen Designer Outlet is only a couple of minutes away with many shops and food outlets and is also home to the York Park & Ride.

For the cyclist there is easy access to Route 65/66 cycle track to York and beyond.

We are only a 10 minute drive from York Racecourse or alternatively you can walk or catch a bus from the city centre.

We have plenty of villages within a 1 – 3 mile radius with lovely local shops and pubs serving home cooked food. There is a farm shop just a 2 minute walk from the site.

This site is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area with easy access to the East Coast, the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.

Good base for access to York

Stayed for 3 nights in August 2024 as my husband was going Hot Air Ballooning at York Racecourse. Unfortunately on the day the weather was too windy and they cancelled. Easy to access site and a really good base to get to York. Site is reasonably flat and well laid... Show more

Very handy for York - but feels like the countryside

Had a 4 night stay last week and really enjoyed it. The pitches are a great size and the ground is fairly flat. Amenities small but perfectly formed and the information hut was useful. Buses into York every15 Mins and the designer outlet is very near. On the other hand,... Show more

Excellent site

Visited here for 3 nights and was greeted by Gina the owner. Really friendly and helpful with information about buses, walks, cycle routes. Unfortunately the bus company Arriva was on strike but we got taxis into York and back. On Sunday we cycled to Selby a flat, relatively easy 24... Show more

Ideal for visiting York

Used this site for our first visit to York. Easy access into the site. Ideally placed with a good regular bus service into York. We also cycled into York-partly on the main road and then we picked up the cycle lanes. Flat site with 12 pitches. We were there over a bank holiday... Show more

New Well Laid Out Site With Good Access To York

Access to the site is easy, no narrow lanes, and a wide turning splay in. As a result there is some road noise from the adjacent lane but this is not continuous and should not put you off from coming. Like the previous reviewer we stayed in early August when there was... Show more
