Marvellous CL

Swan Farm
Everything a CL should be and more. Prompt and efficient reply from Emma re booking enquiry with all necessary details. Excellent signage on arrival so you know where you are going, very easy access from A171, a bit muddy drive/access but you are choosing to stay on a farm. CL itself laid out well, good space between all hardstanding pitches. The hardstandings are on narrowside but perfectly adequate for our 3.85 kg/7.45 m long motorhome to have room to get round to do the chores! Grass was very wet - bottomless ground but that is nothing to do with campsite as we had been staying after several storms and excessive rain. Right side of site pitches are next to high but tidy conifer trees, left side is adjacent to farm yard (only heard the tractor set off each morning at reasonable time so minimal noise). Left side has the views of Whitby Abbey and sea in distance. Amazingly despite being close to A 171, couldn’t really hear any road noise. Of course, bonus to being close to main road is excellent access to many places, either by car, foot or bus. Campsite is right next to Cinder Track which is brilliant. This trip we walked the 3 miles down to Whitby along Cinder Track and got bus back which has a stop directly at site entrance. Also, at the entrance is the pub The Hare & Hounds which cannot recommend enough. It is clearly a well maintained and high standards site as bins, water and CDP all immaculate. We cannot fault, and one of our favourites. Thank you.

Excellent CL

Swan Farm
What a fantastic CL this is , great location with plenty different walks from the site, next to the cinder track which is a pretty flat walk into Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay , easy to reach the coastal path too . Dog friendly pub just over the road and a bus stop next to the farm. Just what a CL should be will definitely be back

Love this site

Swan Farm
Nicely maintained CL with no ammenities. Excellent location for cinder track which takes you to ravenscar or robinhoods bay. Pub and bus stop at the end of the drive. No tv signal on our pitch and some light traffic noise from the road. Would revisit the site if in area again

Wonderful CL

Swan Farm
Four hardstanding and one grass pitch on a slightly sloping field though easy to get the caravan level. Plenty of room for the five pitches, all with EHU. Field located behind Swan Farm and access is easy. At £15 a night, a real bargain. Behind the field with direct access is "The Cinder Path" which is the old Scarborough to Whitby railway line. Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are roughly three miles away and can be walked in one hour or so. Bus stop at bottom of the farm access road, two minutes walk with buses every 30 minutes. Didn't go in the Hare and Hounds pub so can't comment on that, though we did have a meal at the "Grosvenor Hotel" at Robin Hoods Bay and it has a good menu and a couple of cask ales on tap, we enjoyed it. We will definitely be back again and again, thanks Emma.
