Whitby Abbey (English Heritage)
Whitby Abbey has been inspiring visitors for nearly 1500 years – now it’s your turn.
View and BookAbbey View CL site is situated overlooking the beautiful rolling hills and countryside of the Esk valley and towards Whitby. This new site is quiet and level with space to enjoy a relaxed vacation and the grass is lawned regularly. Please note breathable groundsheets only and lift daily to preserve grass pitches.
The village pub is about 8 minutes walk with good food and friendly staff. We are near to Whitby, North Yorks Moors steam railway and Heartbeat country. There is plenty of opportunity for walkers to enjoy a network of footpaths within the National Park and the Tourist Information Centre in Whitby has a varied selection of walks for you to choose from. The bus runs hourly through the village past the CL site and goes to Whitby, other coastal villages and ends its journey in Scarborough; for those wanting a days shopping in a large town the bus also goes from Whitby to Middlesbrough. The park and ride is only a couple of minutes away.
Dogs are welcome but we would ask that you please keep them on a lead on site, not allow them to foul the CL and please exercise them off site for the benefit of all.
Please note that we have 8 pitches but only use 5 at any one time. This is because we have a rotation system whereby we rest certain pitches when they are looking tired.

Whist the site overall was very good there are some issues with the information on the Caravan Club website. • It has been open for approximately 8 years so not a new site. • Some... Show more

This CL certainly lives up to its name, with superb views down to Whitby, the Abbey and the sea, yet does not feel too elevated or isolated, with good access to the A171 into Whitby. Mr Hall left instructions on the board for us on arrival about pitching, and soon... Show more
