View and BookGiffords is set in a rural location just 1.25 miles from the picturesque Yorkshire Dales village of Clapham. Our CL is a half acre lawned field with full hard standing pitches. Facilities include electric hook-ups, space for awnings (no ground sheets), WC and recycling facilities onsite. The site is open from 1st Mar until 31st Oct and advanced booking is recommended.
The site makes a perfect base for exploring the Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside and is set in one of the most ideal walking and cycling areas of the Dales. The Lake District and the Forest of Bowland are other areas of outstanding natural beauty that are within easy reach of the site. Or if walking isn't your interest, you can simply relax and unwind enjoying the stunning views of Ingleborough from the comfort of your own caravan.
Other attractions that are close to the site include Austwick and Malham limestone crags, the Ingleton Waterfalls and the underground splendour of the Ingleborough and White Scar caverns. Also close by is the famous Settle to Carlisle railway.
Our CL is less than 8 miles from the pretty market town of Settle and less than 6 miles from Ingleton, with many quaint villages and places of interest within easy travelling distance, including Grassington, Skipton, Kendal, Lancaster and Morecambe.

A fabulous CL with stunning views of Ingleborough. Easy to find and very easy to get on and off site. Very generous hard standing pitches. The owners just leave you to it, you just need to go up to the house to pay. Very peaceful with just the occasional passing... Show more

The site is perfectly situated on the edge of the Dales and the Forest of Bowland. There are six large hardstanding pitches well spaced out with great views across to Ingleborough or on the other side Pen-y-Ghent and a railway bridge. This was our first time caravaning and only travelled a few miles from storage. The hardstanding pitches were all quite large. We easily got the caravan, awning and car side by side. Gorgeous views of the North Yorkshire moors. Mrs Close was lovely and the site albeit basic was great.... Show more

Our first time at this CL site and definitely not our last. Set on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, about a mile from the centre of Clapham. We stayed in our motorhome, along with bikes, and found plenty to do in the local area over the four days... Show more
