The market town of Masham is located in the county of North Yorkshire, in the Wensleydale area on the banks of the River Ure.
It offers plenty to do for everyone, whether you're a couple on the lookout for a relaxing break or a family with young children.
Walkers will be in their element thanks to a range of local routes, including those in Hackfall Woods. You can also follow the trail of the Masham Bones, 58 skeletons from pre-Norman times, which is likely to delight children.
Little ones can try tractor driving at Farm Adventures or pony trekking at the Masham Riding and Trekking Centre, or watching birds at the Marfield Wetlands Nature Reserve.
For the grown-ups, don't miss brewery tours at not one but two local breweries - Theakston and Black Sheep both have their premises nearby and are generous with their samples.
With excellent eateries right on your doorstep too, Masham really is a great place to take a British break at any time of year.
