Why stay here ...

High Farm CL, Beadlam Rigg occupies a peaceful, remote rural location within the North York Moors National Park, with access to many off-road walking & cycling routes direct from the site gate. We offer metered EHU with 10kWh (our average summer usage on site) included within the pitch fee, free WiFi, a toilet & shower room and we have some hard standing too. The site is open all year around and is hard standing only through winter and the toilet and shower is closed approximately October to March - depending on the weather. We welcome well behaved dogs and children who can appreciate the tranquillity of our setting that other guests come to enjoy. The farm is located at the top of a no through road so passing traffic is minimal.

Beyond the farm the green lane gently rises up to the top of 'Rollgate Bank’ and ‘Potato Nab' escarpment where you can enjoy panoramic views of Ryedale to the south and Bilsdale and Slightholmedale to the North. If you are hungry after a busy day working up an appetite, within 5 miles of the site we have the full range of excellent places to eat from Michelin Star restaurants, exquisite afternoon teas, farm shop bistros right through to good old Fish and Chips, Indian and pizza takeaways. You’ll certainly not go hungry in Yorkshire!

The National Park has an abundance of tourist attractions to offer and is an International Dark Skies Reserve for great stargazing opportunities. Some suggestions of where to visit & walking/cycling routes can be found on our website to help you plan and get the most out of your stay.

Our location is great for:

  • Visiting local market towns, York, the Jurassic Coast and the Heather Moorland
  • Off road Walking and Cycling direct from the site or in the wider National Park
  • Small units requiring toilet and shower facilities
  • Well behaved dogs and children
  • Peaceful stays with Scenic Views
  • Nature Friendly Location
  • Located within the North York Moors International Dark Skies Reserve
  • Great TV, 4G and Free WiFi (if you want to stay connected to the outside world!)

Adjacent to the farm steading we also have self-catered accommodation for couples and a Modern static caravan which sleeps up to 5 people. So why not bring your friends who do not have a caravan with you or alternatively come back during the winter when you still want to enjoy our wonderful surroundings but could do with a few more home comforts too!

We look forward to welcoming you at High Farm, Beadlam Rigg soon!

Great CL - we will return.

High Farm
The CL is a large field opposite the farmhouse and we were greeted on arrival. The facilities (there is a shower/loo) were explained to us and we picked our pitch. The pitches are extremely generous and all have excellent views over the surrounding countryside. Our grass pitch remained verdant and well-drained despite some very wet weather, though two pitches are hard-standing. The farm is approached by good roads until the turn-off for Pockley where the road gets quite tight. Traffic is very light though, and once past the village all the roads, including ours, were access roads to farms. The area is perfect for walkers and for visiting the numerous places of interest. The only extras were £1 per shower, a very good one, and a charge for electricity after the first 10 free units a day. Our EHU bill for four nights, nor being especially careful and with some cold nights, was £4. Very impressed, can't wait to return.

Great cl

High Farm
Just had 3 nights at this Lovely and peaceful cl. Access is from the main road, past pockley village and along narrow road with passing places to high farm. There are a couple of hard standing pitches and the rest is grass. Great views. There is a toilet and shower room that was lovely and clean. 1 .00 for showers. Ehu is on each pitch and the meter reading is taken on arrival . you are allowed 10 units per day which was ample. We did walks from the site and it's only half a mile to the tabular hills walk. There was a box with farm eggs for sale. A site we will definitely return to.

Lovely quiet site

High Farm
Very well maintained site with stunning views. Dog walking directly offsite, which takes you into the countryside. Good communication with the owners and easy check in. Shower block was great and very clean. Lovely stay and would recommend. No facilities within walking distance but Helmsley is only 5 minutes away by car.

Quiet remote site

High Farm
Quiet site, 2 hardstanding pitches & easy access for good walking on to the moor & for this the CL was great. The CL has good views but is exposed to winds from the south & west. We would have preferred a no EHU rate as we are low users of electric as have solar and gas. The shower is available in summer months only & at extra cost (£1 a go) & toilet is closed during frost months. The toilet/shower wet room is very clean & modern but all one room. Pitches are slightly sloping . Remote location, you need to like walking a lot or have a car. We never saw the owners & there is no info board/hut. Wifi on site - but its a fairly weak strength- phone signal is poor. EHU more than 10kwh/day 32p/unit extra. Hardstanding pitch 4 is a bit of a muddy layby by the entrance and next to the water tap, HS pitch 6 is better. Overall we didn't consider @ £24 the CL good value for money for facilities on offer in Oct.
