Absolutely loved it!!

Orchard View Caravan Park
We stayed at Orchard View for 3 weeks in June, and we absolutely loved it! There is so much to see and do in the area that we could happily have stayed longer. The site is quite large, and surrounded by fields of sheep and horses. The pitches are serviced pitches, apart from waste water, and electricity is included. There is a bag of local tourist information leaflets, and a book swap which were greatly appreciated. Recycling facilities are clearly marked, and the disposal areas are clean and tidy. On arrival we were given a laminated sheet of local information and a parking clock, both very useful. The highlight of the site for us was putting up our birdfeeders and watching the parent woodpecker feeding the chicks each morning (we had at least 3 woodpeckers, possibly four). We also saw coal tits, chaffinches, goldfinches. The sunsets were amazing!! The site itself is very quiet, with the only rare traffic being from the farm, and although there is the background hum of traffic from the main road, this is distant and wasn’t a problem. We loved Knaresborough, and enjoyed the Theakstons Brewery tour. On our visit to Jervaulx Abbey we saw Robson Green recording an episode of his Weekends programme. Our favourite place was Brimham Rocks, which is a lovely walk. We’re really sad to be leaving, and although we rarely return to sites again, we loved the site, the owner Diane was lovely and there’s so much left to do, we’ll have to come back.

Stop on way home from Oban to Norfolk

Orchard View Caravan Park
Lovely peaceful site - yes it’s only 10 mins from A1 but the only noise was an occasional sheep bleat and when the pony became a little vocal. The owner met us, showed us where to park and suggested we may want to buy some of the farms excellent apple juice and cider ( which we did) Good dog walks direct from site, easy access to Dales and A1 - all in all perfect .

Lovely welcome

Orchard View Caravan Park
Stayed here for 2 separate nights on the way to and from Scotland. Close enough to the A1 to be not too far out of our way, but far enough so not disturbed by any noise from it. Greeted on arrival by the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Lovely grass field with your own water and electric supply. Very clean and well organised disposal facilities. Great views over the countryside and fields alongside with sheep. You can walk around the orchard which supplies apples for a cider maker nearby, and you can buy bottles on the camp site..... recommended. Would definately stay here again and for longer.

Another lovely stay

Orchard View Caravan Park
Stayed here at the beginning of June and yet again had a lovely stay. Easy access from the A1, yet no noise from it. RAF leeming is close by and the planes go over infrequently but it is fun when they do. Visited the Himalayan gardens and Thorp perrow gardens, both of which were enjoyable. Had a trip on the Wensleydale railway which coincided with market day at Leyburn. We will be back if we are visiting family or heading north.
