Why stay here ...

Welcome to Meadow Farm!

Pets are welcome and we offer 5 serviced pitches. There is plenty of room here and a sunny spots for everyone!

The area offers sailing, canoeing, walking, fishing and beautiful sandy beaches (3 miles) with boat hire available at Hickling Broad.

An enjoyable stay but . . . . .

Meadow Farm Heath Road
This CL is probably one of the largest in the UK but getting to it was a bit of a problem. It is located on the road into Hickling but unfortunately there is no CaMC CL sign at the entrance to the private lane ('Loke' in Norfolk) but with another CL's sign only a few metres away. - confusing. Consequently we missed the turn-off and had to drive into the village to find somewhere to turn around. We knew where the CL should be as we had put the GPS coordinates in satnav. Returning after turning around we spotted a small hanging sign, white text on a black background 'Meadow Farm'. Because of the recent wet weather the pitches had been a bit churned up by vehicle movements although generally they were perfectly flat. A point that is not mentioned anywhere is that the electric is only 10 amps and not the usual 16. We found this out soon after arriving with both water heater and kettle on at the same time. The 2 acres site is grass which is kept moderately short but the clippings are not collected resulting in a fair bit of grass ending up in the caravan. Each pitch has a water tap and two waste bins, one for general waste and one for recyclables . The electric bollards serving two pitches are slightly further away so a 25m cable is needed. Similarly, a long water hose is probably needed. My 15m hose was just long enough. The WC emptying point is better than some but worse than others. The main problem is that it is a long way from the pitches including a 30 metre walk through a small wood to get to it. This could be an issue for some less mobile visitors. Signage, again, was a bit lacking. I know Dan and Sam only took over the CL 2 years ago and hope that they will address the points mentioned in the not too distant future. Would we go again? Yes. All in all we had a very enjoyable week's stay.

Peaceful dog friendly site, lovely spacious pitches

Meadow Farm Heath Road
We really enjoyed our two nights here. We have a 7.5m motorhome, the pitches are big and serviced with water, ehu and bins. There's a little wooded area at the end (unfenced), which was handy to pop into with our dog...there's a dedicated dog waste bin on site too. The walk into Hickling is easy, the road didn't seem too busy but care is needed as there's no pavement. We visited Sea Palling...great beach for dogs, Cromer, and Horsey..all easy to reach within 20 minutes from this site, so the location's good. Dan, the owner, was lovely and made us very welcome, stopping by for a chat now and then. We'd definitely return and would recommend a stay here..we hadn't been this relaxed in a long time!

Mature Couple

Meadow Farm Heath Road
Our second very enjoyable visit to this site (not sure why our previous review is no longer accessible). Large, level attractive site with plenty of shade on the hot days at the beginning of September. Easy access from the A47.

Excellent, spacious and quiet Norfolk Broads CL site

Meadow Farm Heath Road
Spent just over a week here at end of July. Beautifully kept, tidy site with loads of space between pitches. Access straightforward, perfectly adequate facilities, with refuse/recycling bins, water and electric to each pitch. Daniel was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely use the site again if in the area - highly recommended!

New owners Dan & Sam

Meadow Farm Heath Road
New owners Dan and Sam are very welcoming, and we found the access to the site was no problem. We have a 7.6 m. Motorhome and a tow car. The pitches are huge and level and each has water and electric, and two bins, one of which is for recyclables. The grass was well kept and the chemical disposal area was easily accessible. We and our dog enjoyed the openness of the site and the surrounding wildlife. Hickling Broad is about a 20 minute walk away, as is the local dog friendly pub. Nice food! Stalham is about a 5 minute drive away and has Tescos and some nice shops. A very pleasant site from which to explore the area. Sea Palling has a beautiful beach.
