Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden
Woodland and water garden, boat trips, gift shop, plant sales and tea room - a gem of the Norfolk Broads.
View and BookThe Reedcutter Caravan and Motorhome site is situated on the grounds of The Reedcutter Inn on the banks of the River Yare on the Norfolk Broads. The Reedcutter Inn is a very friendly pub run by Steve and Lyn who started running the pub in June 2013. The site is halfway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. This is a lovely peaceful and scenic location.
We are open all day every day, except Christmas day when we close at 3pm. We are both child and dog friendly.
We offer a wide range of drinks and a varied menu. There is a large beer garden to sit and chill in or for the more sporty there is a games room with a pool table, darts, pinball tables and various board games. In the bar area is a another dart board and sky television.
Mondays is cash bingo night with eyes down at 8pm and Thursdays is quiz night, starting at 8pm.
There is a free slipway available and course fishing on the river during the season. All boats must have a temporary boat licence which is obtainable from the Broads Authority.
Cantley is a quiet village with no shops. There are shops in the neighbouring villages or in Norwich or Great Yarmouth. These are accessible by road or train, the station being 150 yards away. Norwich is approximately 12 miles away by road and Great Yarmouth 10 miles. The pub does sell basics and a small assortment of fishing tackle and during the season bait is also available.
There are some lovely walks along the river with marshland and an RSPB nature reserve bordering the pub. There is a pair of peregrine falcons resident in one of the towers of the sugar factory and they can often be seen flying about. There is a wide variety of wildlife to be spotted including marsh harriers, kites, herons, otters and occasionally seals and muntjack deer.
There are electric hook-up points and a separate car park is available. The site is grassed at the outer edge with a central hardstanding.
Although there is no shower/toilet block, the pub is open from 8am everyday with access to the toilets. Showers are available on request.
Advance booking is required together with a full deposit by debit card.
Steve, Lyn and staff look forward to welcoming you.

We have just arrived home from a week at The Reedcutter. It was absolutely wonderful! On the bank of the river Yare, it was so peaceful. Granted, it was next door to Cantley sugar beet factory, but as it was not sugar beet season everything was quiet. The Reedcutter itself... Show more
