Great location for coast and countryside

Hawthorne Farm
Just returned from a pleasant 2 night stay at this well maintained CL, and we received a warm welcome via email after we'd let the owner know we'd arrived, but we missed him each time he tried to see us as we only used the site overnight really. The main reason being that we have a dog, and the site was quite full, with nowhere to walk away from other people's pitches etc. There didn't seem to be any walks available without having to use the road immediately outside the site, which although isn't busy, it is fast. There are lovely places to drive to within 20 minutes, including National Trust sites. We did manage to see the owner when we went to pay him just before leaving, and he mentioned how to get to a field path, but as we were just about to go home it was too late. It would be useful if there was an information board showing how to access the walks. The site is good value at £20 including EHU.

Hawthorne Farm
Great friendly welcome - told where everything was and the fantastic access to great dog walks - by using a farm track we did not have to walk down the road at all which was brilliant. Graham keeps the site beautifully with carefully mown grass, trimmed hedges and a fantastic display of geraniums. With the hose on site and my Moho hose managed to fill directly from the site. Good ehu, TV and mobile reception. Excellent toilet waste facilities and bins emptied every day.

Lovely stay

Hawthorne Farm
Stayed for 5 nights during June . The owners were welcoming and helpful. The site is very well maintained and spacious even though it was full. There are two pitching areas, we were in the first part and it was a manicured area feeling like being in a private garden. The site is next to a road but it is very quiet and I have to say I was not disturbed during the night at all, indeed there seemed to be no traffic on this road. It is a short walk into Holt and also nice walks adjacent to Holt Country Park and also across through the woods to Sprout Hill. We have a dog and the first 100 metres or so of walking is on the roadside but as previously mentioned it is very quiet and there is a grass verge to step onto when a vehicle does come along. All in all very enjoyable stay and I would recommend the site.

Hawthorne Farm

First visit just a few weeks ago. Pretty site with flower displays, grass is short and smooth like a bowling green! Very handy for Holt and surrounding area. Yes, there is some minor traffic noise during the day but not a disturbance in any way. We will return soon.
