Why stay here ...

Our campsite

You will find us in the quiet village of Hindolveston which is situated in rural North Norfolk. Our 5 grass pitch site is on our working farm. The site is surrounded by well-established hedges, farm land and a corn barn. It is a very attractive and sheltered spot with beautiful views of the countryside.

We are an adult only site. Each pitch has its own electrical hook up and a drinking water tap for every two pitches. The pitches are very spacious so you will have plenty of room. The waste disposal area is neatly fenced away.

As we are a working farm with livestock, we have a ‘no dogs’ policy.

Our campsite is peaceful and quiet. To add to the rural location, you will see and hear farm machinery but this is very much occasionally and all adds to the rural experience. The predominant sights and sounds will be that of wildlife and bird song – we have Deer, Foxes and Hares, numerous garden birds, Pheasants, Owls, Buzzards and Red Kites.

The jewel in the crown of our site is our farm, self-service, honesty shop. Here you will find everything you need from milk, eggs, cheese, ice-cream, poultry, bacon, sausages, potatoes, fruit and vegetables, juice, oil and much more. It is advisable to bring plenty of change.

Local things to do

  • For bird watchers – we have a Honey Buzzard viewing area which is on the Fulmodeston Road, a couple of miles from our campsite.
  • Two miles towards the coast is the village of Melton Constable. Here you will find the ‘Siding’ – a bakery and restaurant selling artisan, fresh bread, take-out and eat in food which includes ‘Spit Roast Chicken’ that has been reared on our farm.
  • Briston, a further mile on from Melton Constable is a large village that is well served by local butchers and stores (Graves, Spar and Co-op) as well as two local, rural pubs – The Horseshoes and Explorer’s Bar.
  • The historic town of Holt can be found 7 miles from the campsite. Holt is a beautiful town, boasting many pubs, eclectic shops and art galleries.
  • The beautiful North Norfolk coast is 11 miles away – we are spoilt for charming coastal villages and towns – Cley, Blakeney, Weybourne, Sheringham to name but a few – here you will find tea rooms, fine pubs, steam engines, seal trips ……here in rural North Norfolk we can offer so much to do and see as well as such a beautiful place to chill out and relax.

We take advanced bookings only and ask for payment on arrival.

We look forward to welcoming you to Martins’ Farm Shop CL.

What a lovely week.

Martins Farm Shop
This is a new site this year, we were only their 3rd visitor. If you use google maps to check out locations as we do, it really doesn't do it justice. The pitches are well spaced & have a water tap between 2 pitches, which is split, so if you have a setup which can connect directly to the tap you can. The main field has been planted for birds & wildlife, we saw pheasant, hares & muntjac deer as well as many birds in the hedgerow behind the van, and Buzzards & Red Kites. There are bird feeders hanging from each pitch marker. The grass beyond the pitches has also been left to grow for wildlife, with mown paths through it. We had some lovely sunsets & even glimpsed an owl a couple of times. There is no road noise apart from an occasional tractor, it is very peaceful apart from some military jets from time to time & only on weekdays. There are a lot of narrow lanes around but access is fine if you follow the directions. Next time we are in the area we would definitely come back to this site.
