Fabulous site apart from access

Swallows Flight
This large one acre site has the pitches well spaced out with plenty of room all around, short grass, clean facility area and welcoming owner and manager. Everything a CL lover could want including free WiFi. We filled a fortnight with trips out and April/May time with the bluebells at Blickling and rhodendrons at Sheringham Park and Stody Lodge near Melton Constable was the perfect time to visit. Even the seals at Horsey Gap were worth the journey. From a traffic point of view the site was silent as hardly anyone drives past but there is obtrusive noise when the military are flying overhead. The only downside is that the site is a quarter of a mile down the narrowest road you will ever meet and there is only one place where a car could pull over into a field otherwise it is a reversing job back to the main road. I use the term main road loosely as even that is a country road. The site owner mitigates the chances of meeting another caravan by ensuring those leaving do so before allowing new comers to arrive but we did find the tow in and out stressful. Apart from that it is an absolute gem of a site.

We have been using this site since it opened and it never disappoints. It has been our base for "Last Night of the Proms "at Bllickling Hall, "The Jubilee", and "The Coronation", all celebrated with other regulars at the site and with more than a little input from our hosts Bob ,Gay and Stephie. We have just spent another lovely stay and it's our happy place the only downside being having to leave to come home. Thank you Bob, Stephie and Jim and we will never forget "The Duchess of Alby"

Beautiful well maintained site

Swallows Flight
We have just spent 5 nights here in Early April and it wasn’t anywhere near long enough to sample all the delights this area has to offer. But we can recommend a visit to Aylsham garden centre just off the A140. The vernon arms public house is very dog friendly and does good food, Felbrig Hall National trust is nearby too and we’ll worth a visit as is Alby Crafts and that place too is dog friendly, including the excellent cafe there. As for Swallows flight. What a lovely well kept site. The winner Bob is readily available as is Jim the unofficial site manager, who is a mine of information and very helpful. (Ask him about his sea going adventures in his restored sailing craft!!) This site is well worth a visit and we’ll positioned to visit all that North Norfolk has to offer. But don’t expect to see it all in one visit!!!

So peaceful and ideally located.

Swallows Flight
Spent 3 nights at this lovely peaceful site. Beautifully maintained, very welcoming and everything you need on site. Hidden gem of a beach (Trimingham beach) close by and Blickling Hall and Alby Crafts and Gardens are both well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Return visit

Swallows Flight
We’ve visited this CL several times now. Bob is very friendly as is Jim who helps out. We had windy and wet weather interspersed with some dry spells. There is no hard standing and the ground was a little soft. We visited Sheringham Park for a good long walk. Beautiful in the Autumn colours. We walked down to the beach too. We plan a trip back in Spring to see all the Rhododendron in bloom. We also visited Felbrigg. They now have the bottom floor of the building open and also the cafe and the shop. Found the little “secret” beach too. Still lots to see and do left for another visit.
