Beautiful, Modernised CL.

Nursery Bungalow
Anyone looking at this site should disregard previous reviews because this site has been renovated and modernised since Covid. Easy access to site form A158. ( approx 200yds) Hard standing. Water and electric to each pitch. You will only need a short hose and electric cable. The electric doesn't trip if you put more than one appliance on at the same time. We had torrential rain Tuesday night, the local roundabouts and low points in Skegness were flooded, butwe didn't even have a puddle on site. All major supermarkets (Aldi,Lidl, Tesco, Morrisons) in Skegness. There are carboots nearly every day. There is some traffic noise , but it didn't bother any of the four caravanners we spoke to.we slept well. The owners don't bother you they just let you get on with it. We will be making this our go to site whenever we come to Skegness..

Shame it could be a great deal better

Nursery Bungalow
I've been on this site a few times but it seems to be dropping it standards a little. The pitch area is good unless it rains and it tends to get boggy. The main concern for me though is the toilet and showers, they do have a cleaner in regular enough but I don't think hes up to the job. It could do with a very good clean up, I bought a plug for the wash basin because they wasn't one, the toilet (in the gents) has those small square pieces of toilet paper which are not very good at doing the job (if you know what I mean) and the lock on the door is broken! I think the maintenance man/cleaner has a bad neck because the area's around the top of the toilet block inside are very poorly cleaned and seem to be getting worse. On a personal note I have an extreme alergy to mold and the shower had black mold in the corners of the showers which affected me quite badly. All the taps on site including the showers have those rubbish press in taps which you have to keep pressing to get any water even in the shower which is a major pain in the backside. The only other bugbear is a drainage ditch running down the side which isn't cared for so there are loads of flies to annoy you on you hols. Its easy to drive into but the welcome is non existant and its hard to get hold of the owners. I would stay again at a push but it wouldn't be my first or second choice. Your Truly, Fred.

A well laid out site which is regularly maintained. But there are some issues. Noting above comments re road noise, whilst we could hear background traffic on A158 some half a mile away it was of no real concern to us. The closer B road was not busy enough to be of importance. During our stay there was an unwelcome smell of sewerage on the air for much of the time. A note especially for motorhome owners who need to fill an on-board water tank: There is a single freshwater standpipe on site which is fitted with a wash basin style chrome tap that has a square tapered head. If, like me, you usually connect a hosepipe to your on-board tank via a Hoselock style screw connector on the tap then this will not be an option. You will probably need to use a universal rubber connector that is pliable enough to press onto the square tap head. That being said I noticed someone trying to fill an aqua-roll with a universal pipe connector and they were wasting a considerable amount of water due to leaks around the tap head whilst they filled up. Rather like trying to fit a round hole onto a square peg. NB Due to the positioning of the tap, whatever you are filling, unless it is a bottle, kettle or similar size, you will need some kind of hose pipe, but may struggle to connect it securely to this tap! Almost certainly you will need to hold it in place whilst filling. One final point: the tap is fitted with a delayed action switch off valve, meaning you will have to keep switching it back on or holding it in the open position, all at the same time as maintaining a leak free connection.

Such a shame

Nursery Bungalow

First impressions when arriving at Nursery Bungalow is that it is clean , flat and well laid out with welcoming owners and excellent facilities. At peak season and at only £10 per night all in we were surprised to find only one other pitch taken, but while setting up our caravan it became obvious what the reason was.

When pitching against the fence which seemed popular when looking at the faded grass you are only 20 feet from the Ingoldmells Rd which for a B road is quite busy and with two commercial premises ¼ mile away you have to put up with HGV’s as well as cars and farm traffic.

It is such a shame that such a well run site should suffer from this one major flaw, and I can only advise future visitors to bring a supply of earplugs as I was woken twice at 4 am.

There are lots of places to visit within the area with Skegness the main attraction.
