Lincolnshire Wolds Railway
Experience the thrill of the bygone era of steam situated in a beautiful part of the Lincolnshire countryside.
View and BookHilltop Farm is a quiet site with open views across the Lincolnshire countryside, but within 10 minutes walk of Saltfleet village, which has a shop, a fish and chip shop, a pub and easy access to the beach. There is a workshop adjacent to the site where occasionally, in normal working hours, woodworking machinery may be operated.
The site itself is located on a lawned field and all pitches have electric hook-ups and space for awnings. It is an adults only site, mainly because there is an unfenced wide drainage waterway alongside the field. There is access next to the site to one of several public footpaths in the area. Despite the name, there are no hills! The village field is approximately 100 yards away where dogs can be exercised.
For nature lovers there are many wild birds, including pheasants, owls, swans, ducks and moorhen and if you are lucky in the evening or early morning, you may see roe deer, muntjac deer, badgers or even a fox.
The site is a good base for exploring both the Lincolnshire coast and the Wolds, being 9 miles from Mablethorpe and also 9 miles from Louth, which is dubbed the Capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds and is a charming traditional market town.
The grey seal breeding grounds at Donna Nook (mid October to December) are only a 10 minute drive from the site.
Please note that entering the post code into a sat nav brings you to the centre of Saltfleet village on the A1031. Louth Road is a turning off the main A road next to the filling station.

A little gem of a site! Excellently run by the very friendly owners. Two hard standing pitches and lovely flat grass pitches. Very peaceful with the odd Typhoon training flight over Donna Nook training area; all you can hear most of the time is the sound of the birds. We... Show more

A lovely peaceful CL site, exceptionally well kept and cut grass and even with the occasional high speed flying aircraft from the nearby military base we had a relaxed stay. The owner made us feel very welcome and the simple things like waste disposal all very tidy and efficient.... Show more

We enjoyed our seven night stay here very much. Patricia was very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The site is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Just a few minutes drive to the coast and within reach of many of Lincolnshire's attractions. Highly recommended.

This is a very well run and enjoyable site with friendly owners who have put a great deal of work into their site. We used the site as a base to cycle and we found many routes direct from the site, no need to drive somewhere first.
