Why stay here ...

Welcome to Keepers Cottage,

Keepers Cottage is a new Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location, set in two acre small holding on the Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire border near the village of Hougham, with 5 enhanced free draining grassed pitches suitable for caravans and motorhomes.

We are a family friendly site that welcomes dogs in rural Lincolnshire. We are centrally located between Lincoln and the old historic market towns of Newark on Trent and Grantham. We are also within easy reach of Nottingham and have the Vale of Belvoir on our doorstep. Surrounded by open countryside we can offer a relaxed and peaceful site making it perfect for a getaway break or holiday or an overnight stay if you're just passing through.

With local walks from within 600m of the site gate, linking local villages, it's a perfect opportunity to see wildlife, take in the country air or go for a ramble. We are within 5 Miles of Sudbrooke Moor and Belton Woods golf courses and coarse fishing at Stubton Ponds. Alternatively visit some of the local attractions on our doorstep including Belton House, Belvior Castle, The Vale of Belvoir or Lincoln.

Our 5 large pitches all have 10amp metered EHU and fresh water, looking out onto our equestrian paddocks and beyond. In addition we provide a centralised organic chemical toilet disposal point (organic fluid provided), and waste collection/recycling facilities.

Keepers Cottage has good road links to Grantham, Newark upon Trent, Lincoln and Nottingham. We are ideally placed 3.5 miles from the A1 at Marston and 6.5 miles from the A17 at Brant Broughton.

We look forward to welcoming you to our site.

Great site

Keepers Cottage
We normally use the CL network for simple unserviced sites. This site is a really good example of a CL positioned midway between a minimalist and fully serviced site. The access is easy to spot and the driveway wide enough for even long and wide campervans. The facilities are all modern, clean and well positioned. Each grass pitch has a large post with water, electricity and a solar light. The entrance to the field also has thoughtfully placed lights so it's easy to use even when it's late in the day. The field is rectangular and the 5 pitches are along one edge. The aspect is generally south facing and bounded by mixed hedges. The horse in the adjoining padock is friendly but the 2 goats are a bit standoffish. Even when this site is full it shouldn't feel crowded. Follow the owners arrival guide and you'll do well. Getting out onto the A1 can be problematic especially if you are going north. This site is clean, well designed, the owners friendly and well worth a stop or a longer stay. The local community owned pub is worth a look as the food shows good potential. The site has good 5G coverage. We stayed for 4 nights in early July. We will come back.

Gem of a site.

Keepers Cottage
What a lovely site. Stayed here for one night, as a stop over on my way to Scotland. Perfectly situated just off the A1. Large flat paddock and grass that was nicely cut. Each pitch has its own water tap, I think that’s a great idea. Bins, chemical disposal are at the entrance of the paddock, nicely hidden. Very quiet overnight. It would also be a great base for a longer stay. Met by Jayne on my arrival, and a chat with Joseph later in the evening. They have worked hard to get this CL and it is a credit to them. I will stay here, if available, on my return from the north. Maybe for longer.
