Gainsborough Certificated Locations

Gainsborough is an attractive small market town in the north of Lincolnshire located on the banks of the River Trent. Offering fine riverside walks, it is characterised mainly by 18th century red brick buildings, but it's highlight is the medieval Old Hall, where kings have dined.

The town makes an excellent base for exploring the county. Lincoln itself is in easy reach, offering one of the grandest cathedrals in Britain, with a tower rising over 400 ft.

For those who like walking, the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural beauty lies to the east, offering beautiful rolling chalk hills and woodland. Lord Tennyson once lived here and much of his poetry was inspired by the landscape of the Wolds.
