The small town of Kirkham in Lancashire is situated in the borough of Fylde, conveniently between Blackpool and Preston.
It is a place rich in history and heritage, with 20 of its buildings listed and many dating back from the Georgian or Victorian eras.
Visitors will find plenty of cosy, welcoming pubs to choose from, with six in or close to the town centre itself. This is sure to be well-received after a day of walking or sightseeing in the vicinity.
It's worth heading to Kirkham in early June, as this is when the town teams up with neighbouring Wesham for Club Day. It's a gala during which floats and bands go in procession through the town, creating a real carnival atmosphere and sense of tradition.
Kirkham is also within easy reach of many Lancashire coastal resorts for a day of beachside fun or retail therapy.
