Visit to HAPPA

Lower Cockden Farm
We chose Lower Cockden Farm because of its proximity to HAPPA (horse and pony sanctuary). Megan was very helpful and friendly on the phone when booking. On arrival, it was easy to drive to from the M65 motorway and Kevin gave us a very friendly welcome at the gate. The site is lovely, peaceful and quiet. We had two kids with us and the grassed area was well maintained and perfect for playing. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again. Highly recommended for a base to visit this area of Lancashire and over the border into Yorkshire. The Hare & Hounds up the road looked nice but wasn’t serving food that day - went to a pub 10 minutes away (The Shooters) and had a great Sunday lunch. Food at HAPPA is also great (5 minute drive), particularly their breakfast, which is cooked fresh and supplied by excellent local butchers.

Simply beautiful

Lower Cockden Farm
What a gorgeous CL in a quiet private place. Perfect for a relaxing weekend. This beautiful maintained farm is surrounded by rolling hills with beautiful views and lots of wildlife. Very helpful owners on arrival, Kevin on the phone and Ian in person. We were even greeted by a baby lamb running around the pitches. A charming place with a pub at the top of the road.

Lovely stay

Lower Cockden Farm
Just stayed overnight . Lovely site very peaceful And the owners were lovely people. I was gong to the football at Turf Moor .My friends were.staying in a Travelodge. I opted to take my motorhome and the site was perfect . 10/15 mins walk to the bus stop and 15 mins into Burnley. I was allowed to checkout at 3pm as well. Ideal stop to see local attractions.

Lovely site

Lower Cockden Farm
A Working weekend away for us we just needed a convenient, no hassle place to stay so this site was perfect for us with the owners being exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is a cosy yet easy site (no tight manoeuvring spots). The whole area is well kept and a pretty location, access is via a secure gate, it has a single toilet, washing area with plenty of hot water and recycling area for your rubbish. The site is fairly level although you may want to use ramps for final adjustment. You can walk up the lane to the local pub although we didn’t actually go in as they weren’t serving food until 12th June (so the notice board said). I would be happy to recommend this site as a good one and thank the owners for all their help over the weekend.
