A sheep field!

Pigdown Farm
It was hard to find...try using what3words https://w3w.co/tennis.digits.twig A nice big field full of sheep, with water tap . toilet disposal is a hole in the ground under black bucket which looks like it might overflow, but took all our toilets waste no problem (drains quite fast). Horses and cows in next field. It will be an interesting night with our reactive dog ( maybe good training opportunity or else may be a nightmare!) probably wouldn't have come if we had known about the sheep. .

A bit too basic for the 21st century

Pigdown Farm
The location of this site is good for Hever Castle. Access is through a field gate off a narrow road, the entrance is rutted and care is needed not to bottom your van. We appreciated the large field but it's covered in sheep muck. The water tap is next to a animal drinking trough which is difficult to access unless you don't mind treading in sheep muck. The Chemical disposal point is under a black tub, it's basically a hole in the ground that would have overflowed had I emptied our toilet. While the price of $10 is reasonable this site needs improvement, we were glad we only needed to stay the one night. Things could be improved by temporary fencing keeping the sheep off the camping area, just a basic chemical disposal point and a fresh water tap away from the sheep, bit of leveling of entrance and this site would be wonderful. I would expect most people would be happy to pay $15 a night.

What it said on the tin, nice place to stay

Pigdown Farm
Lovely place to stay if you want basic. Its a field with a tap and toilet waste, the place is quiet we woke up to a cow in the field with us and the kids loved it. One other camper in the field which is about 2.5 acres. We will be going back again soon, ideal for the current covid situation lots of space.

Peaceful and quiet, charming host.

Pigdown Farm
Blissfully simple, calm, spacious. Basic but adequate facilities for our needs, but maybe not yours. Delightful location. One of our favourites.

Lack of info

Pigdown Farm
Only just getting round to reviewing this site. We stayed here for one night at the end of September. We drove to it from the Hever Castle direction. The farm itself was on the right. We pulled in to the yard - no one was about - so we were slightly unsure of where to go. In the distance I spotted what looked like another motorhome in a nearby field. We continued up the road and on the LHS saw a gate with the signage on indicating we had reached the CL. We pulled in, set up and filled up with what water we required. Later that afternoon the owner of the other motorhome arrived on site. We asked him if he knew where we cou!d get rid of our chemical waste. He gave us a vague idea of where it could be - but we must have misunderstood as we couldn't find it anywhere. He a!so mentioned that if no one came for the payment - we were to leave it underneath the wheelie bin. Apparently a recent visitor had left without paying! Well, come the next day we were yet to see anyone to pay - and as we had to leave - we left the fiver - in an empty cereal bag - under the bin and went on our way. We sent a text to the CL owner to explain what we had done. The site itself was basic, relatively quiet (it is on a flight path) - and the field full of sheep! Some sort of clear indication as to where to empty grey and chemical waste would have been helpful.
