Why stay here ...

Borthwood Caravans is situated alongside Queen Bower Farm which is our small family run business set in a very rural part of our beautiful Island. The site itself is located in a large field which has a mixture of flat and slight sloped pitches and includes electric hook ups and space for awnings.

Borthwood with its fantastic surroundings, is perfect for dog walkers as it is adjacent to Borthwood Copse and surrounding foot paths. The Bower itself has views of the Island, so come and see for yourself. It is also in a great position for cyclists as nearby cycle paths runs through to Newport and Cowes. Close by is also Alverstone Mead, a 30 acre nature reserve in marshy splendour, beautifully kept and much loved by those who visit. Highland cattle graze upon it, water fowl swim and plenty of squirrels to admire. The nearby beaches are within easy reach and there is local horse riding to enjoy.

After a busy day you can unwind with onsite Holistic Treatments to ease those aching muscles (see our Facebook page) and then enjoy food at one of our nearby pubs, the Fighting Cocks or Pointers Inn. Fresh eggs are available during your stay.

One Of The Best

Borthwood Caravans
Recently returned from our fourth or fifth stay at this fantastic site with, as always, a friendly welcome from Yasmin and Sean on arrival. Once the caravan was sited it was time to relax and again enjoy the wonderful views. New to us this year, metered electricity had been introduced which included 10KW in the nightly rate. Our slight apprehension was quickly dispelled after the first day when realising included electricity was more than adequate. The Isle of Wight is full of lovely places to visit and things to do. Although we have visited the island many times there is always something new to explore. Thank you Yasmin and Sean for a wonderful stay and already looking forward to next year.

Up there with the Best

Borthwood Caravans
Booked this CL based on reviews and initial contact with owner Yasmin. The views from the site on one side is rolling countryside and the other has picnic tables to sit and take in the sea views. We stayed for 2 and a half weeks and in that time almost felt like family members as owners Yasmin, Sean and daughter Millie were were very welcoming and friendly. We used the site as a base and were able to visit everywhere on the island that we wanted. Facilities were always clean and the bins seemed to be emptied every day. The hand wash and hand towels were always topped up. All in all this CL is the best we have stayed at and well deserves a 5 star rating. Thank you all at Queen Bower Farm.

We had the loveliest time at Borthwood caravans. We couldn’t have had a friendlier welcome from the owners and their dogs. The campsite was very tranquil with beautiful views and the orphaned lambs in the next field just added to the charm. The toilets were lovely and clean and everything was very well maintained. The local pub( Pointer Inn) had great food and was a very picturesque walk through well marked leafy paths. Very short drive to lovely dog friendly beaches and quaint towns. Can’t wait to return. 🥰

Perfect, peaceful CL

Borthwood Caravans
My elderly mother, my two dogs and I have just had the most wonderful week at Borthwood in our caravan . Yasmin and Sean are such welcoming and helpful hosts , making us instantly feel at home . The site is very easy to reach from the ferry port( don't listen to your sat nav!) . Upon arrival, we were so pleased to see the field was just like the photos - its huge and with lovely views. Metered Electric points ( the inclusive amount is generous: we didn't manage to use up all ours) are dotted around the edges on the flat so it was no problem at all to pitch. Mum was over the moon with the lambs in the field next to us that gave hours of entertainment as did the rabbits on the hill ! My dogs quickly made friends with the friendly farm dogs and we enjoyed watching the ponies and the abundant bird life. The site is beautifully tended and the toilet is rustic but squeaky clean. The ground is well draining and even after all the rain we had there was no danger of sinking or slipping. The dogs and I enjoyed the many walks from the site - Borthwood Copse is beautiful- and we explored the island most days. This CL is perfect for those who want to relax on a little farm , enjoy the views and not feel crowded. Especially good for dogs and walking. We will definitely be returning! This is my idea of caravaning heaven 😍

Peaceful tranquil and relaxing - perfect

Borthwood Caravans
I selected this site based on the reviews, I completely echo all the previous reviews, clean and tidy, everything you need, rabbits to entertain the woofers LOL, a truly lovely site that we have on our must visit again list. we stayed for a week with our 2 dogs and thoroughly loved it. We always stay at CL's, we love small quiet sites. Yasmin is such a lovely lady to chat to and it sounds like they have alot of fun. Whilst we were staying, there was a surprise birth of twin lambs, Yasmin's daughter has a small flock. 30 min walk to the Pointer Inn, real ales and great food. Go down the lane next to the site, it becomes a footpath, at the end turn left along another narrow footpath, it goes through a yard / houses, just keep going straight, there were a couple of kissing gates and you come to Martins wood, bear left as you join another path, follow it round until you arrive at the village recreation ground. The rear entrance into the Pointer Inn beer garden is straight ahead. Best to phone ahead and book a table. We visited different beaches everyday with our 2 dogs - all of them were just beautiful. I can also recommend a visit to Adgestone Vineyard. Cheers!
