Amazing views & friendly CL

Body Farm
2nd time staying here, this time is was with family. Stayed in mid June 2024 Location is great, just off the bottom of the M3. Site owners very friendly and accommodating. Views are incredible and loads of local walks. Site is clean and well maintained. Points to note - be aware the turning in is on a bend in the road so keep an eye out for the sign. Some pitches do slope so you may need a couple of small chocks. The area is relatively rural so be aware you may have some noise from animals and birds - not a problem for us we loved it. Will certainly go back as its a good base just outside of Southampton with access to main routes.

Peaceful stay I would avoid

Body Farm

If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet stay then I would looking for an alternative site. This has to be one of the busiest, noisiest sites we have been to. We didn't enjoy our stay here, you had constant noise from the neighbouring farm, an EXTREMELY loud donkey that begins its excruciating noise from 5am onwards and regularly throughout the day. It sounded very much like it was in distress. He was taken away once so we were relieved from the noise for a day but then he was brought back. I have no issues with farm animals at all however this donkey sounded very bad, definitely something wrong there. Also, the routine of moving the bins from here to there happens nearly everyday and that soon gets very annoying when they are being banged about outside your caravan. However, the worst aspect was the tiny area given for 5 caravans on the hardstanding, all are crammed in, the area provided was ridiculous. We didn't feel comfortable here with everyone on top of one another. At full capacity there is nowhere to park vehicles next to the caravans. I can imagine the situation would be different in summer as the grass area would be open allowing more space, however definitely avoid when only the hardstanding is available. There are a couple of positive the OX Indian was very good and a laundrette close by, that is where the positives begin and end. Definitely the most unenjoyable site we have been to so far....

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.

Regarding the donkey, while the donkey is not present every day, if you had made the CL Owner aware of the noise issue, they would have promptly addressed it by asking their neighbour to move the donkey to a different field. Please be assured that the donkey is not in any discomfort.

As for the bins, they are typically only moved on Sunday afternoons or Monday mornings for collection, or if they become full. Please be assured they would not be taken any nearer to the caravans than their normal location. We apologise if this caused any disturbance during your stay.

With respect to the hardstanding area, the CL ensures the comfort of their guests by never exceeding four caravans on these pitches, guaranteeing sufficient space. During your visit for 19 nights there were only 3 vans onsite and 4 on the remaining 6 nights, which should have provided ample room for all.

We’re sorry these concerns weren’t raised during your four-week stay, as the CL Owner would have been more than willing to address them. They value feedback and aim to make every guest’s stay enjoyable, so please do not hesitate to bring any issues to the attention of the CL Owners in the future.

We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the nearby OX Indian restaurant and the convenience of the launderette. We hope you will give the CL another chance to provide you with a more enjoyable experience next time.

Excellent Site

Body Farm
We stayed here for 4 nights in early November, it was our first time here and was a pleasant surprise. We were on the hard standing which would make it useable in all the winter months. The grass area for the summer months would need some decent levelling ramps. The views across the open fields and countryside are lovely. All facilities for waste/recycling are nearby. The walks from the site across the owner's fields were quiet and empty. There is a circular walk along the footpaths and through woods which will take you to North Baddesley which take you past the Co-op where you can get a Costa coffee. If going in the winter months the walk will definitely need wellington boots. The village of North Baddesley is about a 10 min walk down the lane from the site where you can get a bus to the lovely village of Romsey. A walk back from there will take you about an hour or you may be able to improve on our time. All in all, a perfect site well looked after, tidy and clean and excellent value. We hope to return.

Delightful and relaxing

Body Farm
A lovely site with views of countryside. We loved watching the swallows and wagtails busy feeding. The deers with their two youngsters were a delight as we watched them wandering through the fields. Lovely local walks through the very north end of the new forest.Decent site with a narrow entry. Perfect for our two night stay before onward journey. This is a public walking route so some daily activity of folk passing through.
