Why stay here ...

Moorend Farm CL is a picturesque peaceful site, located on a family run working farm in the village of Slimbridge, Gloucestershire, half way between M5 junctions 13 and 14 and is open all year round. The ¾ acre enclosed field is accessed through a 15 foot gate, level with individual pitch water tap and 16 amp electric hook ups. We welcome adults and well behaved pets to stay on one of our three lawned grass pitches and two hard standings(preference is given to motorhomes).

Our site offers an ideal base to explore the surrounding vale of Berkeley, the Cotswolds and the cities of Bristol, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Gloucester. Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Trust, set on the side of the beautiful Severn Estuary is only 1.5 miles away, open all year round, the reserve covers 800 acres and is home to thousands of migratory birds, wetland mammals, plants, amphibians and insects. Within easy reach Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury offers the chance to view 18,000 trees and shrubs over 600 acres of Cotswold countryside. An ideal attraction for walkers is Woodchester Park which offers stunning views hidden within a secluded Cotswold valley, within the park is a 19th Century Victorian Gothic Mansion which was mysteriously abandoned mid construction. Finally Berkeley Castle, in Berkeley is the oldest Castle in Britain to be lived in by the same family for nearly 900 years, offering guided tours, landscaped gardens, tropical butterfly house and tea room.

A petrol station with cash machine and small spar shop are 2 miles from the site, 3 miles away in Cam we have a post office, supermarket and chemist. The local towns of Dursley and Wotton-under-Edge offer shopping, pubs and restaurants. Our closest pub is 1 mile away on the side of the Gloucester to Sharpness Canal. The bus stop is sited on the A38 a mile away, Cam railway station is 2 miles away with trains departing regularly for Bristol and Gloucester.
